One of the most iconic weaponry of Kurita has been the PPC. Thus in that tradition:

Light: Panther
Medium: CRB-30
Heavy: Catapult K-2 and following variants
Assault: Hatamoto-Chi and Mauler

Watch the Light, Medium, Heavy & Assault mech introduction vids over at IGN. You'll see in-cockpit footage of the Jenner, Hunchback, Catapult & Atlas in action. Check out how the cockpit moves at speed, how good the peripheral vision is, that sort of thing. With Mech-Lab, you don't need to pick a mech purely for its weapons. Comfort & ease of use become factors too.

I've always liked the looks of the (Grand) Dragon and the ferocity of the Panther. Nothing like a PPC on a light 35 ton 'Mech!

I got to say as far as House mechs go I'll be looking at running in the Draconis Combine varient on the commando or panther should be something pretty.
The Hatamoto has always been a main stay of the Combine, but to tell the truth no-matter the options I have always been a fan of the NovaCat. Their common and the Combine has always fielded them.

Its really hard to pick just one mech, but over all but I could do a top three pretty easy

1. Akuma
2. Gunslinger
3. Who doesnt like the Dragon?!

From the era we are going to be in? I'd have to go with either a Thug, or a Hatamoto-Chi (since they are basiclly the same mech )

oh yeah...and did I say Dragon yet?

im brand new to this mechwarrior world but from the small list on MW4:mercs i could try and what matches into the draconis combine i would be driving either a panther or crab. P.P.C's are definitely a lot of fun and i prefer beam weapons. house kurita all the way!

I'm partial to the Cyclops and Dragon. I like the Dragon because that's my preferred weight class, lower end of the heavy scale, with the Grand Dragon's weapon load out fitting my style of play. The Cyclops has always struck me as a pilot-dependent battlemech, more so than other machines. It's the aesthetics of the Cyclops that I find interesting: the namesake cockpit configuration, the weapon pods on the forearms, the articulate hands, and the missile ports on the port side, along with the large-bore weapon of the starboard side of the torso just give the machine a well rounded and symmetrical look to it.

Catapult K2, also, given that PPCs are the combine's style, a Stalker (if it makes it in game) with a ER PPC and Streak 6 SRMSs replacing the LLASs.

However, now that the Cataphact is in game, I problably won't run a Dragon. I was going to turn one into a CCQ Mech, but LBX-10 is much better then the SRM's I was thinking of putting on a Dragon to replace it's LRM 10.

I do not know if the DCMS has any of these in production but I would take the Marauder or possibly an Orion

I doubt all the Jenner factories are destroyed. Jenner's are the combine staple light mech.

I remember the Panther factory is inside a mountain, but I have never read about the Jenner's being virtually gone by 3025.

I wouldn't read TOO much into 3025 TRO. That thing is OLLDDDDD and subscribes to the "mechs are rare as hell now" old guard. As Battletech went along this was tossed out the door and factories sprang up all over the place again.....until Dark Ages ravaged the IP. *cringes*

NOTE: 3046 saw Luthian armour works open a new Jenner factory.

You were right that they were destroyed in the past Succession Wars, but I was right that they were rebuilt. !ha!

Including yourself when your ammo explodes...killed 7 mechs at once in one TT game by killing the mauler.

I've got a different one depending on the weight class:

Light: Owens, or Jenner if it's an earlier era
Med: Komodo, especially the KIM-3C
Heavy: Black Hawk KU
Assault: Hatamoto or some version
