Was going to try a Poll but, anyways.

Been holding off on this as it's surely to be controversial. How many Alts (Pilots) should an Account Serial # (server access) allowed per player?

I vote 3. I per Variant if they stay with 3 Variants per Elite Level gained.

I'd say 2 pilots would be sufficient, each with 3-4 mech "slots" in the hangar by default, then expandable by cash purchases.

Im going to guess 1. I honestly dont understand why you would need more than one (unless you were a spy for a merc corp) with the way they have indicated the skill tree works.

This is just my opinion though.

One per account. With the ability to max everything there is no reason to have more than one per account.

What about different Roles?

Agreed.

1 per account
4 Mech Slots (one for each Weight Class)
Expandable by 1 or 2 with paid micortransaction.

I think bots and chinese gold farmers would have more bloat # effect potentially. That said convenience is key, and having only one account with your credit card number would be best, so in that vain having >1 possible alternates in one account may be wiser after all. I suppose charging something like $5-10 would be reasonable to adding additional pilot/mech slots.

You're not locked into a specific role. It's not like "Create new Pilot. Please select a role." It's "Create new Pilot. Use anything you want to get the job done." There is nothing, from what I understand, that locks you into a specifically chosen role.

Edit - Probably should've actually responded to the OP. I see no reason for more than 1, especially if Grimm's 4 available slots is true. Max out a variant, sell and move on. If you really want to keep it, just purchase a new hangar slot. Never understood the need for Alts.

Really has the arguing of weather or not your account should be able to have a 2nd pilot on the other side to tell your side what they are planning already started?

Is that a redundant question? This is.

Sorry I meant if I wanted to have a Pilot per Role. So you put a Scout Pilot in a Scout Mech.

Also thinking that 1 per account should be sufficient as you can train him the way you want. And if you change your mind later on, you can train him in a new way as you can max a pilot on every tree/branch.

4 Mech Slots would seem ok to start with, but why would you limit it to 5-6 total? Having plenty of mechs to choose from is a nice sight imo and if people accept to pay for a larger amount of bays, i'd see no reason not to let them.

I'd have to agree with those arguing for 1 pilot per account. I do see the issue of wanting to play a Clan bondsman lurking somewhere down the road though.

As to the number of 'Mechs stored per account... 3 or 4, with additional hangar slots in exchange for hard money.

Not neccessary based on what has already been stated by the devs.

You will be able to (eventually) max out all roles with your pilot. You're not going to be forced to pick Scout, Commander, Assault, or Defence as your role and then level it up to 50 or whatever. You can max out all skills so you will eventually have access to all Scout, Commander, Assault AND Defence modules/skills on your 1 pilot. Unless you choose 1 'Mech and make that your baby however, I believe you will need to retrain specific traits for your new 'Mech if you decide to switch from a 75 tonner to a 90 tonner.

The only reason I could see for having a mulitple player account is for having different starting mechs.
After play starts your pilot is only limited by his mech and C-bills...

Well, they also have loyalty levels also. So say you have several groups of friends and you want to play as a Merc figthing for Steiner one day, and as a House Kurita Home unit the next, then just drop as a lone wolf into some random game after that to simply blow **** up that would be difficult to manage in the same pilot...

Roles don't seem to matter in this regard, as you can max them all out in one pilot, limited only by the number of modules your mech can carry.Obviously tme spent improving two pilots is less time to max one pilot... (depending on how XP works of course)

In addition, while mechs may be available to any pilot, the cost may vary depending on your pilots loyalty level.

I can see the value in having multiple pilots available per player. If the number of player mechs is limited by hangars and that is monetized, this may not be an available option however.

Well we would be naive to think people wont have more accounts, maybe it would be a plus for the Devs to keep track of peoples actions,

example Ralph has 2 accounts, with one he is an *ss , the other hes the perfect player, he gets mad at some one he switches to the bad boy
ECT. Ect. we all can think of many scenarios .

but if its part of your main account and its EZ to maintain 1 avatar, supporting the other well just think about it as we know it will happen one way or an other.

If i did it right I could be a cook , dishwasher, and a waiter for the steak house, coffee bar all at the same time.

1.

If you need more than one name to play a game, to be fair and just.

1.

Should be enough
