Everyone is talking about which Mechs should appear, your favourite Mechs and stuff, but...

Which Mech shouldn't appear in MechWarrior Online and why?

I forgot to mention... I realy hate Cicadas. I don't know why... is fast, have a nice armor for it's size, but there is something on its weapon payload and its silhouette that makes me use it as a club for my Atlas.

I hate to say: Firestarter; all varients. :P

Unless they plan to make flamers really useful,
even trying to add them will be a headache, as
no one will want to pilot one. :)

obviously the charger(small laser variant) what a b.s design. I know the lyrans need it for there scout lance but that is one horrible design. As for the 4 legs comment above i mostly agree accept i like the barghest design ac20 and 2 large lasers....nice.

I was thinking of making this same thread, two mechs I love should not appear as they would be rather unfair if used, the Bane and the Heliopolis, the former mounts 10CUAC2s which is fine and maybe a tad underpowered in TT but give a person direct control of their firing and you are giving them the ability to slice apart just about any mech from a range they cannot respond, there is also the bane 3 variant, which mounts 8 Clan LRM-15s, which i feel speaks for itself.

The Heliopolis mounts an artillery piece and while a tad slow plenty of armor and and backup weapons that giving this mech to player is asking for trouble, especially as direct fire would be much easier in a video game than TT.

The Bushwhacker. No reason other than the first time I ever saw that 'mech, I hated it.

Really, I dont think they should add quads, since they have the ability to sidestep. What does that mean? It means strafing, in a game where you never could- which could be a huge advantage for lighter, faster designs.

Charger... I think it's safe to say that community pleas alone have already guaranteed that this 'Mech will never appear in MWO.

As for my own preferences, I'm not too keen on the Flea or Hermes.

Completely agree with no quads, not for any specific reason, I just don't like 'em.

As for standard 'Mechs I have no use for: The Apollo. There are better fire support 'Mechs out there, that actually have a chance to defend themselves if someone wanders too close.

Timber Wolf: "Precentor Martial Anastasius Focht later officially designated it 'Mad Cat'." ~Sarna.net

The other Clan mechs have similar IS designations.

Anything on 4 legs. Proto-mechs. LAMS. Dark Age. Pretty much all the "we run out of ideas, so here's another mechanical creature to add in your mech games".

Keep it simple and consistent. There's plenty of stories to be told and fights to be had with just the battlemechs. They're the icon of Mech games for a reason.

If previous writers didn't see fit to add a code designation, there's no real reason for the current writers not to add one with this reboot if that's so much of a big deal (although it seems that Clan mechs don't have one out of principle). "Paper is patient".

TBW-24F Timber Wolf. There, done. That'll be $500 please.
