Shure it's one of the "unseens", but they never stated that they will not try to bring them in, the answer to this question in the FAQ was :"Look forward to a future announcement." Which I see as a explicit maybe.
If the answer would be a clear "No" they would have it already said. At least this answer let's room for speculations that they're negotiating with HG over a licenced use or they bring them in their "reseen" designs.
The settlement of 1996 between FASA and HG is based on false conditions. Unless HG did get the license for the MACROSS' art or the whole franchise after 2001 directly from Big West themselves I dont see the necessity for any negotiations. Tatsunoko never had the legal right to sell the licence to HG except for the animations and the distribution rights. No more, no less!

I feel you. Someone really needs to make a thread about all the designs that were in mass qualitites in 3049.
So we can stop having people posting up why their favorite Clan mech should be in the game based in a time period in which the Clans haven't invaded yet lol

I think a fair compromise would be to charge roughly $4-5 for each Unseen (the actual Unseen, not the Reseen) on the game store and split the profits with HG. It'd be a win win all around.

Do you prefer Cheque?
A check is like a rumor, both need U's to be real. Despite the fact that both of your check/cheques would likely bounce like crazy.
P.S. I vote for the 95T NightStar NSR-9J

Those are probably the most iconic Inner Sphere mechs I can think of, and they certainly want them in. It's just a matter of whether or not the legal trouble has died down and they can get around it with a complete redesign.

I mean, the Awesome is a great design, and it's popular in the inner sphere, but the Stalker is said to be the "Most common assault 'mech" in existence in this time period. It's also a very versatile design, to boot.
Frankly, not having the old blimp-on-legs as a core product would be a disappointment. I'm sure it would crop up in years to follow, but not having the most common mech in a weight class show up in the core product just seems, well, silly.
Beyond that, I hope to see
Light: Panther, Spider, or Javelin
Medium: Cicada, Assassin, Vindicator, Whitworth, Trebuchet
Heavy: Grasshopper makes the most sense. Orion has popularity due to MW3, but Grasshopper is one of those "Used by all" designs and favored by mercenary units. Just like the Stalker, it only makes sense.
Assault: It's pretty much a given that the other assault 'mech that will crop up is the Awesome, though there's a good chance the Zeus will make the cut, too.
