Its like half of sarna.net in one shorter post :) .Good job .
I miss some features like dual cockpits, torso cockpit.Reflective armor etc.
And if i remember there was 1(2) mechs with direct connect to MechWarriors brain.

Few and far between.

http://www.sarna.net...eural_Interface

As you can read in the article, the system was used only twice: onn Prometheus and then on Epimetheus.

Later in the timeline the WOB made a somewhat less drastic version of the DNI interface. It still did the direct link, but just not so radically.

Hey, don't look at me.

I posted this in general discussion for MWO and it somehow got kicked into "off topic."

Glad you liked it.

ATM I am re-editing the essay to make things a bit clearer and adding little bits of information.

I'll make sure to Tag the edited-on date at the top of the thread so that everyone can see it's been refreshed and updated.

This is fantastic! I am going to purchase the Techmanual thanks to this Essay. Its a great read and is a pointed reminder how Battletech's attention to detail rivals many of the more popular science fiction settings.

Um... that's because the information is ... from ... their TT books. Cray wrote the original source articles I pulled the information from.

I'm really nothing more than a middle man here, who saw a REAL need in the MW video game community for this knowledge.

So, go tell Cray over at the BT forums thanks... and myabe buy a copy of TechManual to say "thanks" to the publishers for greenlighting this kind of writing.

;)

The edit/re-write is still progressing.

I think the DIY cockpit makers will find some of the newer stuff very useful... that is, if they're geek enough to be interested in the canonicity of their cockpits! ;)

Oh well that enplanes it then. I have not read the books in almost two years. I figured you at least used them for reference material.

I already bought most of the catalyst hardback rule books. B)

Useful. But question. Does it say what the big red button attached to my seat is for? I'm really curious.

... I would suspect your 'Tech rewired your eject button...

Does the button have a cover that says "for a good time, hit this button?"
