"Wait one," she called to the man wearing the Dragoon's insignia, before he could get too far out of range.
"Personally, I have to concurr with Graaf on this one. We recover our 'Mechs--what we can of them, anyway," she nodded at the young man, then turned to the Dragoon, "then head for the cache. BY then we should have a better idea whether we can resolve this ourselves, or if we need to call off-world for reinforcement. I'd perfer the former, myself: mercenaries have a bad enough rep in the Republic as it is without word of this getting out."
She turned to their fourth member, the gentleman who'd encountered the unknown 'Mech in the Periphery. "Any thoughts?"

[[Post will be here instead, will come up in a bit.]]
[[Edit: Update; since there's no militia base, my mech is stationed at one of the depots...which is about a kilo away from A dropship pad, but we don't know which one (obviously). Still, a depot would still have a small barracks or at least a place to crash for techs, so I'm going with that if it's alright. It'll be referred to as an 'office building'. As for the HPG, I was running along the lines of the militia base having a landline connection to the HPG for emergency broadcasts...but obviously a depot wouldn't "need" such a measure...]]

Inwardly, James was frowning. "A Jenner won't last very long in a mess like this - they are meant to keep out of scraps, not resolve them." James thought but didn't say. His new friend seemed know his way around, and the last thing he wanted was to **** off his guide by insulting his mech. When they paused at the end of the alley before crossing the next street, James took out his datapad and scrolled to the last message his chief tech had sent him to find the location of his mech.
"Apparently my mech is in a servicing bay adjacent to the militia base. Let's head that way and see how bad it is before trying to sneak in and get our mechs. I'm sure the mechbays were the first places those a-holes tried to lock down." Peeking out to get a look at the street, James noticed a new message on his datapad. Opening it up, he discovered it was from his dropship commander.
"Due to ongoing hostilities, and a lack of communication from Robinson Ranger personnel off-ship, I have declared the area around thePanther a free fire area. Any persons entering a 200m ring around this vessel will be fired upon. Any Robinson personnel, please call in using today's codephrase to be designated a friendly. If no traffic is received within 48hours, we will depart into orbit. Out."
James looked at Raven, "Well bud, we've got a Leopard class dropship waiting to take us off world - let's have some mechs to load in it shall we?"
[[is assuming that Nomad's mech is in a commercial depot nearby the KungsArme's.]]
Damon nodded. The mechbays would be the first place they locked down, which would mean a two-man infiltration team would go downhill in a big hurry.
Peeking out into another street, which seemed quiet for the moment, Damon surveyed the area before ducking back into the alley behind a dumpster with his partner. The adreniline was starting to wear off after 20 minutes of running through alleys, and despite maintaining calm until this point, the stress of his first ground battle outside of his cockpit was starting to mess with him. Taking a few deep breaths, Damon began to outline what he knew of the space between them and the depot where his and where he thought James' mechs were located.
"Okay, the depots from what I remember are lightly guarded...no real obstacles in our way other than a barbwire fence, which probably doesn't exist anymore in a few places." Damon outlined the facility, which consisted of 5 main buildings. The largest two sat on opposite East/West ends of the compound, On the North side where a pair of smaller buildings, with the final building in the Southwest corner of the depot. Damon circled this building.
"We head for this building. It's the main office for the depot, but they have some barracks on the 2nd and 3rd floors for the techs to sleep, which is where I've been staying. The first floor is all office space, mostly computers and stuff, which is probably all raided too. The fourth floor is mainly storage space, though its pretty empty."
Pointing to the two largest buildings, he said, "These are the mechbays. Mine is in the one closest to the office, but it's on the opposite end of the building. Getting to it will be difficult, but there are several back doors we might be able to access. The last two buildings are mainly equipment and spare parts storage. That'll likely be crawling with people."
Pointing back to the office, he said, "There's an emergency escape out back, but it'll immediately sound the fire alarm. We'll have to go in the front door, and my stuff is on the third floor. I doubt they have time to pick through people's belongings, so as long as the first floor is clear, we should have no trouble. From there we can decide a gameplan. Is that alright?"

Think of it as a sort of 'Mos Eisley' situation; the FRR takes a very hands-off approach, allowing Rundvik in particular to be quite the lawless frontier town.]]

[[just a 'for the record', Damon doesn't have a dropship. His ride offworld isn't supposed to arrive until the following week, which would make it a month living on-planet as part of his training.]]

"Guardian, Guardian, this is Wolf Dragon, come in damnit,"
"Phiro is that you? Damn it's good to hear your voice,"
"Your telling me, the city's a mess, I got your location now,"
"How's the cache outside of town?"
"Safe and sound, they don't even know it's there, and even if they did, it would take them hours to find it, without setting off the booby traps we laid for them,"
Draco smiled, he knew that even if they found it, the booby traps would more than discourage any would be robbers, not to mention the on station personnel. He signaled a standard formation, then quickly realized his mistake, they weren't familiar with his hand signals. He then just motioned a simple follow at a distance. He looked across the street, and saw it was empty, so he crossed, laser pistol ready, then took a position at the other side. He then signaled the next person to come over. Nathan told another to go next, and as he covered the other end of the street.

"So, your brother, what ASF is he driving, Mr....?" she asked, giving him a chance to fill in the blank. As she spoke, she could see a squad of Dalian Guard infantry "liberating" the inventory of a men's clothing store across the way, the store's proprertor and staff watching impotently at gunpoint, with other shops getting similar treatment nearby. Lina's expression suggested she would be happy to see someone make a strafing run right now.

More bandits [He gave up on calling them mercenaries] had people, small shop owners by the looks of it, lined up out in front of their stores while more men looted and ransacked the stores. He cringed seeing the broken forms of several of the civies lying on the pavement in pools of spreading red.
"Murdering A-holes."
More sparatic sounds of gunfire filled the air followed by the canvas tearing sound of a heavy machine gun.
Like before all the bandits attention seemed to be on the looting and didn't take notice of the thugish looking man run across the street and into the alley beyond. With heart racing, he dared to take a look back into the street. Yep he did seem them, vehicles, lightly armored hover pickups with heavy machine guns mounted on top. And there was some other vehicle as well at the next intersection. He couldn't tell what model it was, but there was no mistaking what it was.
"Oh great, they's got a tank."
Wondering if the Davion's had just launched another war Thom turned back into the alley and began to run..

"My name is Draconis Wolf, yes the Draconis Wolf from the Bonette resistance. My brother is in an updated Centurion, with the best equipment money can buy, and -" catching her look at the infantry, "Wolf Dragon, this is Guardian, I need a strafing run on street next to my position, coordinates are fox one niner,"
Phiro acknowledged, and he saw a Centurion fighter scream across the air above them, he then came back with all of his medium lasers firing, and slaughtering the helpless infantry. Draco waited, and let the rest cross.
