I can't accelerate fast enough to get away before it recharges its PPCs. Looks like there's only one way to go.
Once more, he pushed the throttle forward.
As the Grand Dragon picked up speed and approached, the Thug fired another volley of SRMs. Six of them connected, rocking the ‘mech but failing to deter its advance. The Thug attempted to fire its PPCs again, but by that time, the Grand Dragon was already too close and they failed to make any impact.
As the two ‘mechs finally collided with each other, the Thug didn’t even budge.
There must be something else behind it.
The pulse lasers began to bore their way through the armor, the range being such that missing was nigh impossible. The assault ‘mech attempted another volley of SRMs, but the explosions only served to damage both ‘mechs.
The Grand Dragon flexed its right arm, pointing the ER PPC at the Thug. Unlike regular PPCs, extended range varieties are equally effective up close as they are at a distance. Double heat sinks mitigated the extra heat buildup that came with those benefits.
With its primary weapons useless and its secondary weapons nigh suicidal, the Thug was at the mercy of the Grand Dragon’s armament.
Until a point blank shot from its left PPC severed the Grand Dragon’s right arm at the elbow.
****!
Acting quickly, the Grand Dragon’s left hand lashed out and grabbed the Thug’s right arm, forcing it aside as it loosed another PPC shot. The left arm blasted into the Grand Dragon’s side before it began to sputter and spark violently.
That’s what happens when you disengage your inhibitor, pal.
Its left arm essentially defunct, the Thug attempted to wrest its other PPC out of the Grand Dragon’s grip. Pulse lasers incessantly chatting away, the stalemate was interrupted as machine gun fire peppered the Grand Dragon from behind.

Twin crackiling beams of manmade lightning shot out and slammed into the Rommel. The PPCs tore huge rents in the tanks frontal armor, but the thick armor withstood the onslaught. The tank counterd by firing it's LRMs, the missles streaked out and drummed against the Blackjack's torso denting the armor there, but otherwise not doing much. When the smoke cleared from the explosions Thom could see the tank turning to go down an alley.
Probably thinking I'm gonna chase him down. Smart move. I round that corner and I'm looking down the barrel of that monster cannon.
He triggered his jump jets and sent his mech soaring on a plum of ionized fire. He got a good look around, way off in the distance he saw an epic like explosion [[Goodbye Urbie!]] and an ASF doing it's best metor impersonation plumeting towards the ground. Choosing a spot on the next street over Thom landed the mech down, crushing a flatbed truck in the process.
"Oopsie's, my bad."
He shoved the throttle foward and brought his mech up to a jog. He went down to where the alley exited onto the new street and rounded the corner. Sure enough, the Rommel sat about twenty meters in the alley, waiting with turret pointed back towards the old street and with it the Mech-hunter AC.
"I diot! My's uncle rewrote da book on tank tactics!!!
His accent almost cleared up when he shouted.
He mashed down on the triggers and a quartet of ruby red beams flashed out and gouged out the already mangled armor. The beams scythed through the remaining bits of frontal armor and deep into the bowels of the tank, which erupted in it's own epic explosion. The old buildings on either side of the explosion caved in half buring the conflageration in bricks.
Checking his shortrange sensor he saw a bunch of static.
"Stupid jamming."
That explosion might attract unwanted attention...
Thom did a quick check of the comlines. Hisses and pops bombarded his ears and every once in awhile he heard garbled words. He wasn't sure what they were but was pretty sure it wasn't the 'good guys.'
He chuckled as a sudden idea came to mind. Stabbing away at keys to seldom used consoles, he acessed his music files. He turned up the volume and opened an open comm channel that whoever in the Dalban Micronics communication system's range could hear. He couldn't break their jamming, but he wasn't gonna just sit there and listen to static. He chuckled again as the strains of ancient Terran music [Metal anyone?] blasted over the comlines.
"I's should've been's a Raven pilot."
And with that comment he began to make his way at best speed back towards the depot where he left Graff and Lina. He couldn't help but notice that there was a lot more garbled conversations on the comms now.

Phiro banked left to dodged the incoming fire from the new Jaggermech, and spotted the Atlas. A curse left his mouth, and he got on the horn with the drac. We needed to withdraw, now, before the rest of that Atlas’s friends shows up.
“Sal, get on the horn with your friends on the ground, we need to pull out, we’ll fly air cover, and get what we got out this god forsaken city. Guardian, tell your friend in the Marauder to move his mech to help cover the retreat,”
“Roger that,” was Draco’s response.
Phiro rolled left dodging some more of the enemy’s AA fire. He casually brought her around. This AA, was nothing compared to some of the things he had done, including some of the flying he had to do to get off of Bonette. He then decided it would be better to get lower, as he would weave in and out of the streets, so he could contact the unidentifieds below. They seemed friendly, but, one could never be too sure, and he was certainly sure that they would be more than a little pissed if they pulled out now, without notice. He flew down a street, and spotted the Jenner. He keyed his comms quickly, got a link with the Jenner.
“Hey, you might want to tell your buddies that we are pulling out, a fighting retreat, and it will either draw these idiots out of the city, or, at least give us a breather, so we can repair and reload,”
The Jenner turned, and he went flying overhead, barely managed to keep the comms on the Jenner. He waited for the coming response.

"Major, get prepped!", barked the Colonel over the intercom.
Aedris remained perplexed, as he hadn't been following the briefing.
"Say again, sir? What for?"
The intercom roared again and blasted,
"Aedris, we have fighting nearby. As the nearest Federated Suns unit, we have been ordered to investigate. Especially, since one of the combatants is an officer of Robinson's Rangers. I'm hot-dropping your lance 90 klicks out. Move it, soldier!"
"Damn, those Rangers!", Aedris mumbled to himself, "Always dragging the rest of House Davion down with them!"
The Major pulled out his own comm, and alerted his 2 best Centurion pilots, and his XO, a Jenner pilot.
"Listen, up men...", blasted Aedris.
"Um, sir..." a rather feminine voice interrupted.
"...and you too Tanya. We've got one of 'em Rangers soiling the honor of House Davion by draggin' himself into a sticky situation. We're going to go rescue his sorry tin-can of a mech. Let's show them how the 1st does things."
"Sir, YES, Sir!"
The quartet assembled in the hangar bay and initiate final checks on their mechs. Once aboard, the operations officer bellowed over comms the go signal.
3
"All systems good, weapons operations", Sterin continued over his mech's radio
2
"Be ready team, we don't know how much resistance we will face down there".
1
"Godspeed. For House Davion."
The world turned in to a blur as the 50 ton suit a metal hurtled towards the surface.

[[In other news, remember peeps there's a Jammer still in affect. Unless you have ECM or Guardian ECM, or laser-communications, nobody is seeing anything on radar and communications are worthless...I think between me Orc and Nomad we've lead others to forget this (since two of us are sporting ECMs) so its just a friendly reminder. Radar and communications a bye-bye for now. ]]

[[Didn't forget about it. But I edited some of my stuff so the jamming looks like it's as big of a pain as it is. Figured hisses, pops and garbled words (you know white noise and unintelligable words) would be a good discription. Oh and when I was able to actually hear and understand the 'bad guys,' it was when I was using their gear.]]

*rises concern* Am agreeing with Thom on this one. A entire lance is already one thing.... but an entire House Davion regiment? In Free Raselhague Republic, sovereign and independent? Oh yeah Happy Independence day FRR! Um... character Azman has always been a little paranoid, a conditioning since his CCAF days. *eyes Wolf's Dragoons*
So heres Azman's Conspiracy Theory. Understand FRR has a good military cooperation with House Steiner (LCAF side of AFFC) and House Kurita (DCMS). But it never did say anything with House Davion. And the timing of it all... A House Davion regiment conveniently nearby... an organized and well armed mercenary unit happened to go rouge... House Davion forces drops down to save the day… a highly orchestrated cover perhaps for House Davion invasion of FRR territory?
Heads up guys, a mastermind of the strings may have presented himself. *Azman bows humbly to Aedris Nova*
Wonder what GM Grafvitnir, or Lina Thoren, AFFC advisor will say anything about this. hehehe. Windborne Raven. Gotta love it.]]

Bio says that unit is on R&R.
Not entirely sure the AFFS would appreciate military equipment, let alone an entire regiment's worth, being shipped to the edge of the periphery with a unit that is on R&R.
Not entirely sure the FRR would appreciate an entire fully armed regiment, R&R or otherwise, from another nation passing through their territory.
Not gonna concern myself too heavily with it considering my current situation on the ground...
