Oooo a Victor. On that note, I hope 'mechs can be retrofitted with Endo Steel if they are not "born" with it.

This report is a straight up lie. I have seen the cracks myself in my upgraded Victor chassis. I had to get it replaced again again to a standard chassis. The repair bill was over 9,000!!!

Or maybe it was my XL340 engine and gauss rifle. We will never know...

Victor!! That's why they delayed the announcement of the mech #16...

But seriously, I do think the Victor will be the next Assault mech.

Agreed. Though I dont think it should be mech restricted. Perhaps done by variant.

1,000 pages. That screams at me, "Don't read this report! It's full of BS but, we're too embarassed to admit it!"

Still, ummm, what's good on buyin' 2 of those? Ya know, for insurance purposes?

I would ask more questions, but that would violate NDA. Suppose it is back to the Beta section for me.

Ah endosteel, sooner or later we will get it. For those without the knowledge, the internal structure of the mech is 10% of it's total weight (example 55 ton mechs have 5.5 ton i.s.) Endosteel cuts it roughly in half, rounding up to the nearest half ton (using previous mech size 5.5/2=2.75 round up to 3) if they follow table top anyway.

Everyone knows that the VTR-9D, produced right here in St. Ives is the superior machine. Sure, on paper the VTR-9D looks like it shares all of the same classes of equipment used in the VTR-K9, but everyone knows that the HildCo Type V Endo Steel chasis is simply a better product than the Alshain Class 920, which is produced in the Draconis combine.

If you want a Victor, sure, you can buy one from the Dracs... but if you want a Victor that won't fall apart at the first sign of incoming fire, you want HildCo.

It's a shame. Independence used to make a great product.

it also takes up more SPACE inside the mech. so you get more weight to play with, but you lose space. it's a trade off. If i remember correctly anyways. It's also more expensive.

Having said htat, i may be remembering wrong, so if i am feel free to correct me.

EDIT: for the record i woudl prefer endosteel on my catapults if possible just forhte sheer fact that i awlays run out of tonnage WEL Lbefore irun out of space. oh how i miss my madcat days on my first mechwarrior (as i learned it, later learned it was orginally battletech) game.

You are correct in that endosteel takes 14 internal slots (IS variety, clan is half that), but with the limited weapon selection in place, unlike in MW2 or 3, it make it more viable, except in cases where you have a slow assault mech (say a hundred ton mech with a top speed of around 54 kph) then you would sacrifice the ES for as many weapons as possible. Still, if they stay true to form anyway, ES will always be greater than Ferro Fibrous armor, using the table top information mind you.
