I love it, everyone in this thread is either a jedi, a ship captain or a mechwarrior, even though those are all the rarest types of individuals :)

Not necessarily. In many fictional universes small spacecraft are relatively affordable to the average person. As someone who chose the "Space Captain" option I'd like to clarify that I would fully expect to start off in a small one-man shuttle without weapons or defensive technology... basically a "space taxi".

Edit: Sort of like how you start out in Escape Velocity: Nova.

i was torn but i have loved Battletech since i picked up my first novel (Main Event) so i would live in the Battletech universe and i would so want to be a mech pilot and of cousre that would mean living in or near large urban areas.

but gee i really love firefly i would be my second choice. That Nathan Fillion is one cool dude.

Mandalorians are so much deader (thanks to the jedi).

Fixed it for you.

edit: those damn jedi.... don't see why the Mandalorians deserved to get wiped out.

So says you, as long as one lives, we all survive, which is why Mandalore the Preserver, brought us back, and we fought alongside the outcast to kill Darth Nihlus.

I know I misspelled his name, as he is not worthy of me correcting it.

For me it would probably be something like conan.I'm a much bigger fan of the historical kind of fantasy I guess?Or if I could go back in time in general no fantasy involved I would. Simpler time where men were men by their actions and held accountable, honor, respect, dignity actually had meaning. And if you had problems you handled them yourself. And I have alot of respect for the men that went toe to toe with each other with melee weapons.
Movies and the like don't do this justice as to how brutal it really was. If you've ever seen real combat in video form or in real life, the destruction that firearms do to the human body. Imagine it up close and personal with 36inch swords slashing into people I assure you it was very nasty business.

I'd have to agree with you on that one.
