No worries, in hindsight, I probably should have planned the opening better. However everyone is now in the queue to post, so get to it boys and girls!

Yeah... what he said.

Gonna be moving at the end of this week or the next so if I'm quiet one weekend you know why.

Sounds good Thom, just let us know the weekend you're moving so we can try to avoid people relying on your responses :P

Hope I didnt destroy the space time continuim (agreed nobody can spell that word) Hope no one would get 'erase from existence' *geeky snort* Posted in Steel and Snow something typed out days back. Hope didnt mess up anything. Though right now I'm focusing on wearing a bowler hat. I just dont know how you guys can multi-rping different characters at the same time. Its a headache. :P

ps GW rocks when he walks into a bar!

Why is it no one can ever spell 'Rogue'?
/B*tches, complains, whines

I've been playing a Dark Heresy campaign for the last three years, using two characters. The first I only kept a couple months, and brought him back once, the rest of the time I've been using a techpriest called Tod Von Oben. Every time we do a one off or I join another campaign, I end up playing a techpriest/equivalent who acts nearly exactly the same...
For some reason though, I find it easy to write several characters though.

Dude, I'm not gonna lie. I find it hard, expecially when it's a new character. I find it usually takes a few post for me to develop the character enough to play 'right' and have fun doing it. Thom is easy to play because I've played him for so long and I think of him as a bit of myself at that young (well in the RPs where he's actually young) just with a Brooklyn-like accent. The difficulty could apply to the same character on different timelines.

The same thing applies with DeMarkus for the mostpart. I just play him like I would an older wiser Thom, who's seen and done some things in his time. He's known victory and glory, but he's also known crushing defeats and crippling injury. Example: in the Tharkad Summit RP D can no longer pilot a battlemech due to neuralogical damage. He must have headbutted too many Panthers or used his weapons fist as a bomb one too many times...

He's a lot like Thom in some aspects, but completely different in others. He's more honorable for one, whereas Thom is an oppertunist. Exmple: DeMarkus would have let the Akuma regain it's feet (but maybe shoot it once it got to it's knees) during the last match of the Solaris Grand Tournement, whereas Thom would kick a fieldgoal with the Akuma's head.

"Alright, first platoon, we breach the door, then we destroy the bar. Henderson, you keep the barkeeper in line. Kemula, you make sure that any patrons stay out of our way. Stanely, I want you covering our six. Gomez you prep the grenades," Weber commanded as 1st platoon assembled outside the bar. "Priority one is to destroy the bar, preferably with minimal civilian causalities."

------------

On a serious note, I was considering if some of the Infantry chaps should visit the bar, naturally after the happy mechwarrior family have had time to get acquainted.

Alexi spills her tray of newly mixed concoctions onto the floor at the front of the bar as the infantry burst through. Pissed as hell at the alcohol abuse and seeing that the squad means business she "What the HELL do you boys think your doing? One this Isn't time to play war! Two those are the wrong guns, you stupid muscle heads, Three wouldn't you rather play with these?' {she unzips her jacket and begins acting like some chick from girls gone wild] "Four you have to deal with fire building in your pants.." [with that she flicks and drops the zippo from her jacket and ignites the highly flammable mixture that squad is standing caught slack jawed in] The front entry way suddenly bursts into flame at floor level and catching the squads BDUs catching their pant cuffs surprisingly quick. :P

Alexi then bounces off to hide behind Thom and Azman. "Stupid pounders. you flash a little flesh and they always stammer and fall apart" :P

@ Oni it's not a jacket, it's dress shirt. And it's soaked through... raining outside.

No she started that way, my first post she had already taken his card. :P. She's not very good at it other than using her assests to distract. The jacket was just a convenient way of getting it back to him, that and the silly barkeep thought he had it on tab. Now in RL I'm drawing all of this from my college days and yes I've been privy after the fact to some of my former female friends doing these moves.

as for rain soaked, she doesn't mind, it's already wet and will help keep the rain off of her head, unless Azman or one of the other gents steps up with a dry coat / jacket of their own and offers it to her.

Kemula watched first squad burning with a slight look of distaste on her face, "Tssssch, they ****** up didn't they lieutenant?"

"Yes, never trust a women in a bar," Weber replied without missing a beat. "Right send in section 2 and 3, get rid of the exhibitionist hero first."

Ok, I am going to stop before I spend as much time RPing in here as in the IC thread. :P

Yeah, I find before I really "get to know" a character it can be quite difficult to write for them. However, once you start to get a feel to who they are and how they would react it becomes much easier.

Hearing the rather distinctive military a-typical "Right" over the sounds of the charring flames and gurgling men. Alexi immediately reached into her pockets tossed the two heat sensitive canisters towards the door, not caring whether they were shot or the fire's flames licking them alive once they landed. Upon bursting they sprayed a goodly sized area both inside and out of the door with a hot pink gummy substance catching some of 2nd and 3rd squad squarely, trapping them in place and gumming up the door. :P [Yep those silly Anime girls and their even sillier gadgets]

Captain Thom... It does have a certain ring to it, but I see Thom's Terrors being a bit like 'Ace Darwin's Whipits' You guys should read them up if they're up on Sarna, there were a decent read in the mercenary handbook, worth a laugh.

Honestly the biggest let down in battletech ever was the lack of "The adventures of Ace Darwin" series of novels. I'd give all my monies to read about him and his pink panther's exploits
