Looks like the Dark Age Aurora in a way (the back). Though it says Leopard to me, maybe more realistic take on the wings there though. No fighter bays, but in space you could just use the mech doors anyway. Assuming we even see them in game at all or not.

Leopard is the sexiest dropship in BTech! I wonder what the startup checklist for that thing looks like. :)
It's actually a fair bit smaller then the An-225, but weighs 6 times more. Probably because of all that armor and the fusion engines.

Traditionally maybe, but the tradition Atlas was in the 10 meter range I thought, not the Gundam sized 18 meter monster in the trailer. I would bet the leopard has also been given growth hormones to compensate.

The Leopard is listed as 22.4 meters in height. Assume from Floor to Ceiling. If the Teaser is scaled at all properly, then that Atlas is no where near 18M tall. Unless that Lift Crane is alot less than 4 meters above its head while not scraping the ceiling as it turns. :)

you guys think i'd forget the fighter bays? for shame

i pushed them forwards on the design and stuffed them into either side of the nose down by the front to give the mech bay a little more room.

it'd be suicide to release aeros while dropping in atmosphere anyway, so it's largely immaterial whether the aeros launch to the sides or slightly to the front since you'd be doing it in space anyway.

Anyone ever play Tribes 2 ? now they had transport for moving players across their huge maps,

I wish we could have something like that as a dropship, just a way of
picking up and moveing players mechs across the map, I envision saveing guys who are red all over.

Maybe somewhere in the future ?

@MaddMax I've seen enough Gundam sir, its also been confirmed on here (trailer thread) that this Atlas is larger than that canonically has been. The Leopard also looks a bit bigger.

The Leo looks more like an Ahab with its wings replaced at the back to me.

Or just like a bread with wings.

I don't understand where the idea comes from that the Atlas is too big. The Atlas is canonically somewhere around 15 (if I recall correctly) meters tall. If you'll look during the first part of the trailer when the camera moves to the second technician, you can clearly see that the technician is as tall as the entire upper arm of the Atlas.

The Atlas is the correct proportion.

only the lights and some mediums are 10 meters tall; some lights are even shorter than that. Heavies and assaults are 12-20 meters in height.
