Not true, if you look on a MW4 HUD, you will notice that the speed and heat level bars are switched, as it makes sense for a coolant flush to be next to the heat gauge. I hope and am guessing that that extra bar next to the speed is something else dealing with speed or something sensors... not coolant. PLEASE OH PLEASE LET IT NOT BE COOLANT!!! DEVs, please confirm if that bar between Speed KPH gauge and sensors box is NOT a coolant bar!

When you're done nerd ragin lemme know. I still have my Battledroids box, as well as a painted Yamato 1/60th Destroid Tomahawk if you really wanna have an epeen contest (which is laaaaaaame). I love the game as much as you do, so quit attackin me. Have some faith that the devs (who have admitted on many, many occasions that they're trying to stick to canon as much as possible) will have an appropriate scoreboard.

Yeesh.

Wow....seriously? Just gonna gloss over the fact that my main point was you saying BT isn't a acronym over someone talking about what it stands for as in the spirit of (for those late to this party). And then go off on a epeen contest kick while trying to say I started it and saying it's lame?

I said it because I wanted to show I understood where he was coming from, that I got what he was saying. You are the one trying to epeen.

Well at least now I know you really do live in Brentwood. Typical attitude. Thanks for letting me know there is no point in PMing you about a our groups hooking up for some BT.

Arnold Carns I like you and your posts, but sadly you cannot expect other people to comply to your desires. Sadly. As well, you are on a BattleTech/MechWarrior forum, good luck eating ever again then because the Clansmen are here to stay! :D

Shhhhh! Don't feed them! :o
And by the way, I do not have anything against Clansmen, have been some years the CO (Khan) of the German Clan Wolf in the MaximumTech 3058 and the BattleTech Universe leagues myself during the glorious MW3 and MW4 times.
But I do have something against senseless discussions that clarify nothing and lead nowhere. It is a waste, and it is known, that Clansmen hate to waste. Among other things they hate. The things are quite countless! ;) ^_^

Yeah, Bryan - that was me. ;) Thank you very much for the answer, but...if i may ask for a liiiiittle more accurate definition...does this mean that we'll be able to move the head? This is a very important question for me, as i have TrackIR and it would be very cool if MWO will support it. Yes, i realize that this is an uncommon input device and its support by MWO is unlikely, but i need to know for sure.

Thank you again, it's really cool that you're - devs in such a close and rapid contact with us - community.

Well, I wouldn't say that TrackIR is an uncommon input device. Obviously it isn't as common as keyboards/mice or even joysticks... but Natural Point has sold a grunch of them. While we have other head tracking solutions out there, TrackIR has been the dominant one to date. Kinect PC, or some web cam based face tracker may eventually grab the lion's share of the head tracking market, but for now it still appears to be TrackIR.

That being said, and observing how that Atlas drop trailer contained movement that looked like very well done head tracking, etc.... I'd be thoroughly amazed if TrackIR support didn't end up in the game. About the only way I can imagine that not happening is if Natural Point insisted on some sort of exclusive support mechanism, and PGI declined to allow that exclusivity (to allow Kinect PC, Facetracking, Free Track, etc.). There's a lot at stake there, so I suspect they would get it worked out.

I look at it as how many people have called for wanting TrackIR? We have a lot of people wanting one and many saying if PGI says it is in, they are considering buying one. Just the fact there is the demand, and the fact people have said it is not difficult for a company to set up the support for in the game... I see it as a good possibility it could make it in. Plus as said, the piloting looking around to flip switches could be a indication they are putting it in. Of course that could just be animation sequence in cryengine3.

players head tracking...... As in track IR support?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Anything is poissible.. ;) I was refering to the player's ability to move his head independently of the Mech.

This gives many mechs different advantages, and also downplays the insane strength of assaults like the Atlas. They do a lot of damage, but they have to deal with torso twisting to accomplish this.

Booom! Nailed it right on the head! Every Mech feels quite a bit different now.

In the weapons panel, he has grouped 2 medium lasers together visually. I'm not sure what the significance of this is, though it's odd that where you see what was assumed to be the ammo count (next to what I assume is a damage meter), the lasers are listed as "10" as well.

Maybe a) the list only shows weapon group 1 right now, and the space between the two lasers and the rest actually holds another weapon, which is assigned to group 2?

;) The 10 behind the lasers is actually a sort of ammo count, or rather a "shots" count.
-> Energy weapons come with capacitor banks that can hold enough energy for up to 10 consecutive shots, but need time to recharge them.
You could fire those ten shots within 5 seconds, but then had to wait 50 secs for them to recharge.

Or 2x5 damage for the pair of ML's = 10 Except they ALL say 10 at the end. Even the LRM 20's. :D

Hmmm Perhaps it is short hand for 100% and they will track each weapon system for actual damage over time? That would be very neat. ;)

So, now i just need to know PGI has signed some deals with Razor, Steel Series, Logitech or some other big name device creator and I will be spending some good dollars this summer.

Yup, same here! I'm using all my self control to not buy a G940!

I glad because I shall can check my critical status, heat sinks etc. IMHO, that upper med lasers are not rear-firing, that are arm-mounted lasers(2-reticle) ;)

Thanks again for the insite Bryan, looks like I might have another reason besides Rise of Flight and Arma II to pick up the TrackIR 5. Damn I know I'm going to end up ordering it before the weekend is out

It's in the cart right now. Just debating if I should give the free tracking software a go first.
