If you drank beer in those cities, you did the right thing. :)

Actually now that I think about it. I oppose the idea IF you guys can't play with us after you get your own server AND/OR you refuse to give up a weekly sacrificial offering of female Aussie voices lol

Actually I'm against separate servers. I've grown quite accustomed to playing with US and European players and splitting the groups now will just bring back the feelings of hate I had towards Blizzard and their wisdom of "You want to play with US and Euro players? Sure buy two more copies of SC2"

I learned 2 thigns in those cities
Mind you I was 20, in my prime, in the Marines, been drinking heavily for months prior to this and had built up a good tolerance

1.) Never drink beer with an Aussie if you're going to try and keep up

2.) Never drink Jack Daniels or Jose Cuervo with an Aussie if you want them to keep up

Crikey, great response on the OP's post, hopefully we get a dedicated server our way!

On that note, if anyone in Australia is browsing for a group to join up with:

Feel free to take a browse!

Hahaha, no no, I mean in terms of shooting people XD

If I don't lead people with my weapons, I miss all the time :) Which is annoying.

As far as leadership is concerned, I think Aussies tend not to be too bothered with that kind of thing. Laissez faire and all that.

Ah targeting Its a little harder if you have a mech with actual arms. You actually have two targeting icons. The cross hair, and the pip (little round circle). Cross haiir is linked to torso mounted weapons, pip is linked to arm mounted weapons. Your target box is a good indicator of how far to lead your shot for the torso mounted weapon, for arm mounted it just takes practice unless its a beam weapon like the laser. Its kind of like shooting clay birds with a shotgun you have to keep swinging the weapon to maintain the lead until after you see the round leave your weapon.

Yep! But here in Australia when you have 300 ping, if you shoot lasers and hit someone, you see him glow, but he doesn't take damage

So I have to shoot the air in front of him, and I'll see my pip glow red when I'm hitting nothing to make him take damage :)

That's why we want our own servers, one among many other reasons.

If you haven't tried it try game booster. It definitely helps on games with Fps, and latency issues. Cnet.com/downloads

Heck i'm trying this one out myself! I push it to get 25-30 FPS and if this helps I'll be very grateful!

That program won't do much for us Lads down under. It's simple distance to server that causes the issue 99% of the time. Ping wise anyhow. We literally have to shoot way out in front of fast mechs and hope for the best.

The lag shield issue strike us yanks to unfortunately. Seems there is a little bug in the code that is supposed to get fixed some of the problem in late November.

Hoped in tonight for another quick look. Complete waste of time. Shots are falling nearly a second after I trigger the round. Any fast mover is nigh on impossible to predict the shot.

I'll come back later I think.
