How this is Inner Sphere news is outta my understanding...

Because Wolf's Dragoons are big news in the IS, easily a household name. Zeta strikes fear in hearts, just the mention of them will put commanders to surrender.

I find it humorous that Ghost et, al will likely post a daily missive re: Ms. Kerensky.

She's such an anonymous figure in the game

Natasha Kerensky was one of the original members of Wolf's Dragoons. Since 3004 she has remained one of the Dragoons' best MechWarriors, and is famed throughout the Inner Sphere for her skill and beauty. Following the death of Joshua Wolf in 3015 she adopted the title of "Black Widow" and formed the Black Widow Company. It is as the commander of this company she has earned most of her fame, and insists on being at the vanguard of any major operation. As a Colonel in the Dragoons, Natasha is currently deeply involved in the training of a new generation of MechWarriors on Outreach.

Colonel Jaime Wolf is the commander of the Wolf's Dragoons. Following the mercenary unit's appearance in 3004, he has led his curiously technologically-advanced forces around the Inner Sphere, working for each major power in turn. After the disaster on New Delos in 3015 during the Marik Civil War that killed his brother Joshua, his wife and two of his children, he emerged a changed man, and became deeply concerned with the preservation and continuation of the Dragoons. He then accepted a contract with the final power in the Inner Sphere that the Dragoons had yet to work for: the Draconis Combine. Following a savage battle on Misery against Combine forces on the orders of Warlord Grieg Samsonov, and the subsequent disgrace and ritual suicide of his good friend Minobu Tetsuhara, Colonel Wolf broke his contract and later confronted his former employer Takashi Kurita on the eve of the wedding of Hanse Davion and Melissa Steiner. During the Fourth Succession War that followed, this provocation caused the elder Kurita to direct all his efforts to crush the Dragoons, reducing them from five regiments to one in fighting that caused terrific losses to the attackers. After the war was over, Jaime was granted the world of Outreach by a grateful Hanse Davion. It was a world that Jaime had specifically chosen for its history as a Star League-era manufacturing center, and now serves as a base for the Wolf's Dragoons as he seeks to rebuild their reputation and former numbers.

Nah, I don't know about you, but women with jaws more square than my own don't appeal, nor large arms. If Kate Beckinsale had red hair, she could have been Natasha in 3025, I think. Except for the fact Sigourney Weaver has no chest or butt, yeah I think she would have the right attitude and look for a 3049 Natasha; right now, I can't think of anyone else that would be older and beautiful, and Sigourney still has that appeal for me.

Doesn't Natasha leave before the Clans show up so she can rejoin Wolf?

I'm guessing the argument was related to Jaime not wanting to take the Dragoons over.

no Natasha does not leave until after the ilkhan is killed in the Rasalhague republic. When the call comes in for all the bloodnamed warriors to return to clan space to elect a new ilkhan does she go home.

Now what surprised me is that no one seems to put together that this mysterious and mysteriously well armed group came out of nowhere with names like Wolf and Kerensky and someone could not put 2 and 2 together to publically ask them if they were the decendants of the great Alexandr Kerensky.

No, she can do that. She's Trueborn, Jaime Wolf is a freeborn. Of course the public doesn't know that, but in clan society she outranks him.

Believe me they tried, Comstar especially. In the end, the service of 5 elite regiments was worth too much to risk. As for Kerensky, that's not an uncommon name. Just because she shares the same last name doesn't mean anything. It's like expecting somebody with the last name of Windsor to be a member of the British Royal Family.

colddawg i do not think that they told everyone her last name was kerensky. I think they knew her as natasha k. that is it. In the field she was just colonel. I think this is right not sure i will have to check my books to be sure.

Hey, 'Dawg, long time no see. In universe, I think everyone was so busy with internecine fighting, and all but the greatest scholars and learned folk had forgotten about Kerensky and the SLDF over 400 years of warfare, that it didn't matter where they came from or who they were/are.

Out of universe, no one really knew what was going on, hadn't read enough, yet, by the time the Clans emerged.
