I would pay for them to fix the game. Just fix the damn game. Stop with the bobble head dolls the christmis lights etc. I paid for the founders set because you (the developers) stated that you would try to model after the table top...........When is that actually supposed to happen? I have been pouring over table top rules (again). I would pay a monthly fee to help offset your mainenance but first you have to do it.

I would pay for people to realize that the people responsible for cockpit items and other such things are not the same people responsible for bug fixes and coding. Seriously people, they really are two separate areas of development. I'm yanking your chain or anything. They really are completely, totally separate.

In all seriousness now...

I would pay for the ability to design and submit 100% custom skins. I wouldn't mind having to pay each time I submit skin for a different chassis, but it should be free for every model of the chassis that I purchase afterwards, or at least substantially reduced.

The ability to share those custom skins would be nice too. Maybe allowing us to decide if we want our skin(s) to be sold on the open market, with a small cut (5%-) from each purchase.

I would happily pay 10 or 15 bucks for that. A pop.

I would pay for an image of a black rose dragon as my mercorps logo, for 3 reasons. 1 Im the admiral of the number 3 fleet on a different game, the fleet is Black_Rose. 2. me and my S.O.A (spouse of Admiral) both like dragons, and 3. DC baby.

Something similar to the middle level founders program package. Instead of just buying straight MC, getting a pretty much stock mech with some earning/XP bonus on it (can even make it less than the founders bonus (maybe 15-20%), so they are still happy about their deal) and some MC to play around with.

I would pay for a working game without bloody bugs and random and stupid game mechanichs: unjustified lag firing ballistics and ppcs, no knock down (ligh) mechs when they are hitted by a bigger one or take massive damage, now we pick CBT rules, now don't ... Too much graphics but poor gameplay.

Now, fanboys can argue it's beta

Naruto aside, using cartoon themed decals as a decoration for warplanes/warships is well documented. Despite how lame it looks it should be still allowed as aesthetic quirk. If someone wants to make their mech look dumb then let them, at least as long as we're talking just about decals... Atlas with cat ears - that would be too much for me.

Personally I would love to see special "ace" paints/decals for people who reached certain K/D ratio.

Stuff that you can interact with inside your Mech cockpit. If not music produced by the company, then the ability to add a "mp3 player" to your cockpit so you can cycle tunes of your own.

There is already a kill counter in your cockpit, but some type of decal for the outside of your mech that auto-updates whenever you get a kill, hash marks or skulls etc.

Interior of cockpit color change schemes and/or skins.

purchasable alternatives to bitching betty....could be a computer voice, or accented voice.

A decal/spray of your mech's name (what you named it when you created it) sprayed on its "head" or back or arms....alternatively, YOUR ingame name sprayed on your mech.

Player vs enviroment... kinda like minecraft.. where enemy's spawn and you and/or your faction fight,, possibly protecting your land...

solaris arena would be extremely nice... with choices for 1vs1, 2vs2,,, etc...

and the last so very important one... they should have made it before the game itself... a proper launching system... so we actually have a choice what map and what faction we play with... I cant tell ya enough how anoying and not fun getting put in a map you dont like with a team that cant work together worth beans.

been playing battletech since I was a child 20 years ago... this really isn't feeling like being a mechwarrior in a team because of these few simple things :-(

What do you think about having some type of research points? You earn them during matches thru salvage. You can apply them torwards researching new variants of mechs and types of gear. Important fact is they are based on what the other team uses to a certain degree. Premiums earn a little more than non-premiums. Everything can still be unlocked by free players but it takes longer. I like the unlocking of weapons and having paths like the Pilot tab and mech tab. I think that bonus match packs would be good. You pay like 5$ and you get 20 or so matches where you earn a bonus to your exp. You could make two types. Exp and C-Bills. I think that once they go down the path of making this more of a MMO and less of a Map BF3 with mechs the more money they will make. Imagine having the ability to go out and gather resources in mechs with mining gears...I am talking about a Eve like aspect. You open up tons of $$$ making micro transactions. Building your own clan HQ and such. Big dreams but with the right $$$ injections anything is possible. just a bunch of random thoughts and I haven't had my coffee yet.

It seems to me that a good movie cliche is to have a picture of your wife/girlfriend/family in your cockpit. I would pay to have a "frame" (something that resembled a Polaroid picture) that I could add my own picture.

* Charge for cosmetic upgrades: Paint, decals, etc.

* Charge for extra inventory space (Can only store enough parts that if you want to change your loadout you have to start pulling parts off other mechs to swap around because you can't store everything you might fancy for a variant in your inventory without paying a one time fee to upgrade inventory space. This would make it more expensive in in-game currency for F2Pers to swap out their equipment all the time (pay for off one mech and onto another instead of just out of inventory and onto a mech). People who are willing to pay for extra parts space will have the convenience of not having to remove anything from other mechs to get the desired loadout for a specific situation and also they will have the encouragement to use more variety of roles in their gameplay.

* Charge a box price (This way everyone is contributing something and there are no freeloaders with a small % of playerbase expected to keep the game alive with purchases). This may not be on the table still with their F2P model, but I feel it is fair for a high quality product.

* Mech variant presets. Allow people to pay to save a variant configuration that will save all the tweaks and parts just how you like it and you can quickly activate the preset to load up the variant you like immediately as long as you have all the necessary parts. This is a convenience and one that is worth paying for if you have the money to do so. This also encourages those who pay to have more variety since it will take no time to change presets whereas a f2per will have to remember or write down their variants and manually swap each part.

*Mech bay slots. Make it so if you don't pay anything you can only store one mech of each class (light, med, heavy, assault) This is also the alternative to the idea people have proposed of making it so you have to pay to unlock certain chassis of mechs. I feel that unlocking all the chassis should be part of the game progression for everyone and anyone can choose which of the chassis they want once they've unlocked it, BUT the F2Pers need to sell their Atlas if they want to use a Supernova as their assault mech whereas the people who pay for an additional slot can have both mechs in the bay configured how they like and ready for action whenever they see fit.

I feel that all the above proposed items allow for fair gameplay and should be sufficient to keep MWO profitable while not nickel and diming everyone. These items are designed to encourage cosmetic, convenience, and encourage variety in paying players while not giving them a gameplay advantage over those that choose not to.

@Grimlox - you read my mind. In addition, I'd like the option to see my whole mechbay (not just the selected mech sitting there with a limited view). It would also be cool to pay for additional visual content. Examples might include maintenance work being done on various mechs. You might pay to see more and more of your mechbay, showing off all your mechs. I can see people posting screenshots of their decked out mechbays. There might be a few workers welding away on various parts of the mech (each worker or area costs MC). Maybe there's a family banner on the wall in the background, etc.

to reiterate Grimlox, I think paying additional MC for equipment storage and variant configuration saves is a brilliant idea... Sure i'd hate it, but at least it's another way the company can get money without coming back to that controversial Pay-to-Win line no player wants them to cross. It's a sacrifice I'm willing to make to keep things balanced.

I would pay money to belong to a competitive ladder - like the ranked play in League of Legends.

Why pay for this?

To keep less serious players and trolls away from the ranked - serious play. For example, in League of Legends, there exists the idea of ELO Hell which is populated by new players trying ranked play for the first time and is populated by troll players who try to ruin the fun and the competition of serious players.

I would pay $10 a season to join this competitive ladder and by doing so also agree to have serious consequences for players who do not abide by the rules of this competitive ladder.

The best teams and players naturally rise to the top, but I feel having to pay to compete would help reduce the incidence of trolls (afk - suiciders etc) and the frustration of serious-minded players.

I noticed a previous post of mine also fits this topic. It is sort of specific in that I would be interested in funding a type of development and I think many other people might be intersted also but that is to be seen. My idea was in a nut shell that the community and developers propose ideas which are posted to a project board and the ideas are then funded by the community and in return players are rewarded credits and a vote in project development while the game also remains free to play. The full idea is here:
