I would pay for the Cicada noise/mocking effect used in http://www.youtube.c...bI_IgbCF_n4WTax .

It would be a great taunt option, especially since the Cic isn't even a great mech. At least, you should be able to "move the arms" the way the cic does in the hilarious video.

I would pay for cosmetic stuff like decals or paint jobs that identified my mech (and my friends' mechs) as being in the same group.

I would pay for additional mech bays.

I would pay for hero mechs.

I would pay for sound scheme packs (that change the weapons sounds, betty voice, etc.).

I would pay for different mechlab skins and effects.

I would pay for player name or mech name changes.

But I absolutely will not pay for consumables or anything that reeks of pay 2 win.

Pay for use of a Solaris game lobby and drop rooms. MC and C-bills involved, daily/weekly/monthly fees for a Solaris Pass. Would not earn C-Bills nor experience.

Like the following:

View PostTarl Cabot, on 14 March 2013 - 12:02 PM, said:

  • The lobby system could be setup to resemble Solaris gaming world, just as with MPBT Solaris.
  • As with Assault/Conquest/Any/Testing selection, another selection would be auto queue or Solaris drops
  • Solaris drop areas will allow current arena owner to select type of combat
    • Weight classes LMHA configuration or specific configurations.
    • FFA
    • 1 lance all the way to 2 full lance drop (4 to 8)
    • hungry, thinking...

  • On Auto queue, as right now, one earns Cbills/GXP/MXP, whereas with Solaris drops nothing is generated, from CBills to stats. This prevents, for the time being, any abuse of dropping against yourself  Prevent issues like SOE is having with PS2, which has led to the banning of accounts on all of their LOB with usage of VMWare (usage allows culprits do bad things).
    • Auto queue would ensure that those who want or need the GXP/CBills/MXP can still get it. With the lobby it will also allow lances to form more easily to go into either Solaris or Planetary combat drop without the direct need of TS.
  • Fees for Solaris combat drops. Edited How fees would be generated. Entering Solaris would generate a pop-up box, like a contract, discussing fees. This would allow Solaris patrons see what the effect of fees would be on their accounts. (removed suggestion of the fees not going active til CW)
    • As for the fee, the denominations, it can be a mixture of MC and C-Bills. MC tied to allowing one to go into Solaris drops (1x fee, daily, weekly, monthly) then C-Bills for the actual drops, different level of fees, either per drop or per day fee.
    • Attempting to enter a drop room would generate a pop-up window if the usage has not paid his fee(s) for Solaris or does not have an active Solaris pass. This would prevent issues where a combat drop can not happen due to it being held up by someone who has not paid their fees for that time period.
    • Icons next to names to indicate if they are Planetary (default) or Solaris queue.
The above would allow the usage of C-Bills and MC, helping to pay for itself. Hai, it should be here already but what better incentive that to generate money :)

Take my $$ for animated interface-lobby in the style of MW2: Mercs - something similar to EVE 1st person view - I'd like to walk between my cabin (trophies, stats), office (missions, socials), hangar and somewhere else, enjoying the atmosphere of Clan's/IS Company's space shuttle/base et.c.

P.S. Current interface is just awful, but it's beta, I know.

More than anything, I want a British gentleman Bitchin' Betty alt sound pack. "I say chap, incoming missiles." and, "Center torso is ****** all!" Makes that cherry-red core almost worth it.

It's kind of pricey to hire good voice actors, but I think a lot of us would pay out the nose for some good alt sound packs. Make the sound packs play while observing, even better. Some other ideas for a good Bitchin' Betty:

Optimus Prime
TomTom GPS Default
Eddie the Computer
Captain Falcon (pref. after melee introduction)
House-Specific packs

So what do you guys think?

-pay for name change.

New content, real content. Not just decals and things to make you pretty.
Maps, modes and mechs.. REAL content....

Beta games shouldn't even be charging people. Use to be a day when you got paid to be a beta tester.

I would however pay to have the portal computer voice, as my mechs voice..
It "HAS" to be able to see my mechs name and speak it though, while powering up.

This, and I'd also pay handsomely to create a private match just for friends. At this point I'll also pay real money to set the weapon groups in the lab rather than at the start of the match because I just find that whole process tedious. Keep the ability to manipulate the groups in the game, of course, because who knows when the situation will actually warrant it, but otherwise having to do it every game is a major drag.

I don't think you keep your weapon groups?
When I assign mine, it keeps that config. until i sell that mech.

I would pay for the ability to resurect my mech, and have the Devs answer my questions in "Ask the Devs!"

Reading some of these posts I got an idea. What if you sold an add on or whatever you want to call it, that was in fact some kind of body shop or mech bay. So, what could happen in the "bodyshop" is a pilot could literally paint their mech any way they could think of. As they would be using the same code as the game to create the paint scheme of their mech it should be totally compatible to the game. Just make some paint brushes for the user to use and let em go. The level of detail should be high, or you could sell a basic paint gun and you could sell a high end paint shop. Guys could spend days painting their mechs in any manner that pleased them and you could easily charge $40 bucks, $20 for the basic spray gun. You might need to have some type of moderation or approval mechinism in place for inappropriate paint jobs, but I would hope not much, and you could penalize the individual by disabling his paint shop, include that in the terms of service.

But, what I will pay for is better physics. Most of the people I play with are not kids, at least by number of years spent on this planet. We want things that work very well. Not just ok well. I want a mech to fall on its face when it steps off of a steep cliff. I want mech collisions that are meaningful. And I really want to crush a tree, especially that little one on the forest map that hung me up the other day. That thing was a twig, but I got stuck on it. I want more maps and better maps. Raise the bar on quality. I'm not complaining. You guys have started well. If you want me to keep loving this game years from now then you are going to have to force me to love it. I love what I cannot master. Don't let me jump off a mountain and still be standing. If I run into the wrong thing, let me fall. I will pay to continue to play a game of high quality. I would even buy a paint shop for $40 if I was so invested in the quality game play.

I also really think the way this game forces people to drop is bad for team building. The flexibility to have different sized drops and the choice of who will be dropping , like the old match making systems, Zone, Mplayer, MW server. Anything you can do to increase the flexibility of the game would be good, I think. And if I don't care who I drop with I can continue to drop in the regular match making system.

One way to offset the cost of building new maps might be an early buy in fee. Announce a new map and let people who want the new release buy it. Then if the map was popular people would easily pay for the development cost. If the map sux then people would not pony up for it. Eventually you could release the map to the whole conmmunity wheather it paid for itself or not. I wouldn't get too gready about what you charged for the map. But there could very well be some flexibilty in the pricing, depending on the QUALITY and features of the map.

What would I pay for?!

All the UNSEEN mechs!

Period!

I don't care how much PGI has to modify the models. (Seriously, a Flat-Plate canopy has long been in order for the BATTLEMASTER to reduce glint anyway.) I want my S*** back!

I Would Pay. Big-time.

P.S. A "Hardcore Server" with real C-bills, perma-death, IS Campaign, ejection/foot evasion, Merc Companies and all the fun stuff. Big fat persistant maps. I'd pay a couple dollars worth of MC every time I died. Which would probably be often.

Startin' over with a new character all the time... Trying to get XP without getting killed.

I would love ot have a mech bay for say 2000 MC that added 20% cbill or/and xp bonus to any mech placed in the bay.

Mechs would have to be non-tranferable between the bays without selling and repurchasing them and the bonus would not stack wtih Hero Mechs. It would be cool to have a lessor reward on any mech placed in that bay.

Nothing until they start upping the release rate of content. 1 mech/map a month is just insulting, no new game modes, no faction ANYTHING. Not giving any money until I see them fulfill some of the promises for the game that they made.

I would pay for a mode with Tanks to shoot at. I don't care if they streamed in ala DOTA or spawned near certain objectives.
