That's on the way in a MechWarrior version. Community Warfare. You will fight for Inner Sphere Houses, famous Merc units, or player Merc units for planets on a map of the Battletech Universe. Owning a planet grants access to special perks and gains loyalty points, as far as I know. Some planets, it is rumored, will be coveted prizes. Support vehicles like tanks? Not yet anyway.

I get the feeling sometimes that the Devs are taking advantage of people's love of the universe to charge more than they should.
I understand that they have to make money and I enjoy the game, but to be honest I won't be giving them my money until I feel it's worthwhile.
Let's put it ths way they charge about $20-30 for a single Hero mech. For what is effectively a skin with some extra options. I've played many other F2P games and have spent alot of money on some, because I thought what I was getting was a good deal. $20 for a single skin in my book isnt a good deal. A full game costs $50 if it's not F2P.

If someone reads this you might have hit the jack pot. It would be unfair to allow founders mechs to be sold to non founders, and that is the point I am getting at. I think that a lot of revenue would come your way if you were to allow the founder mechs to be thrown on the market for the founders to buy. Think of all of them whom were a little short on money then and could only get Veteran or that were unsure if the mechs were worth the money so only got one.
We are your major kick starters money wise, I think it is not unreasonable to allow this for founders, if only for one month or one weekend to purchase one with MC. Legendary founders, since they do already have all mechs, maybe they could get another mech of their choice. There is also the possibility of getting them a founders bobble head or something.
Thank you!

This is why you make it a pay-for option that only unlocks once you've reached certain conditions, same as you would unlock a Master-class efficiency, so that only people who are serious about the game will be able to do it. There'll be a limited amount of people who are committed enough to spend enough time to unlock the ability AND pay for it, making it really easy to moderate the privileged few that do get it.
Alternatively make it a livery editor, like in Forza Motorsport.

This has probably come up elsewhere, but I'm going to put it out there. I think that charging MC for pretty much all of the colours is ridiculous. I understand that they have to generate profit, but I think that trying to do so with the paint isn't right in its current form, especially considering how many paints there are. The majority of 'mechs you see in battles now are the basic green colours as very few people will pay that much money on a scheme.
I think all paints should be available for a Cbill price (like 500,000 each) and you can use MC to buy whole pallets. I want to paint my 'mechs and see other peoples designs, but I can't justify spending that kind of money on them.

Seriously, I would pay MC to make that happen: to be able to say "never, ever put me on this map. Ever. Again."
I hate those frigging maps.

If this game stays as a simple mech fps then i would happily buy the game as a one of like any other FPS game, again asuming no microtransactions are present.
Microtransaction have been and will allways be the bane of online games. Some impliment them with success , other fail. MWO as it stand is walking a very fine line with items that could easily be considered P2W atm. However since its F2P, they have no choice but to have a wide variety of Microtransactions, and as such, some are stradling the line of P2W.
What would i pay for ? .. The game ..bassicaly ..screw microtransactions.

Holographic procejtions . A lot of games sell cash shop pets, but this would not fit into our game. So why not sell the ability to load a projector that will project a 3d image of some sort. This could inclue little mini cartoons( A funny cat chaing a mouse, or some mini dancing devil). The possible options are endless. You may need to limit the number of times it can be projected per match, to keep them from being annoying.
Flags. I would pay money for the chance to mount a flag pole on my shoulder and fly a Jolly Roger or faction flag even.
Fireworks displays. Maybe we could load the ability to launch a massive fireworks display . This would be a great way to punctuate a good battle or celebrate a match win.
If and when melee combat is added selling melee weapon skins in a natural option.
These are just a few ideas I had right off, I love the spirit of this thread tho and i will add to it as I think of good concepts.

the most effective trolls try to be a little more subtle than this. chromehounds was a good game but the online play was instantly taken over by light mechs with 4 sniper rifles lined up at an angle to use the weapon kickback (yeah i remember "the build") oh and occasionally you saw artillary if they were a VERY organized team. MWO has some balance issues ATM but it is at least possible to play more than one build and live for a few seconds.
