I wasn't going to comment in this thread as I feel Beta's should not be paid for. Actually it should be as it was when You got paid for testing a unfinished project. With that being said They are already doing what you have stated they said they would not.
Case in Point. Phoenix pack. Pay and you get advantage of Mechs before the FTP model.
Case in Point: XP to GXP is blatant PTW
Those are the 2 that stand out to me. I'm sure there will be more.
Now If this was an INDIE project I would throw cash at it all day. BUT this is not even remotely Indie.
HERE Is what I will Pay for:
A Finished Balanced Game!

FOR SOMETHING ELSE: I'd buy a single-player campaign/s.
Look, BattleTech has had several writers who has written several novels about this universe. And novels has been a staple of the BattleTech franchise since what, the 1980's? Its just like Warhammer40k when it comes to products except that I am yet to see actual physical Warhammer40K trading cards.
A single player campaign, or chapters, or episodes released seasonally featuring a great story with great plot and utilizing the game's engine; that's something I'd buy. Ever experienced watching a TV show and you can't wait for the next episode? Yeah, something like that.
Its just an idea though because making a "book" out of a videogame is way more complicated than just writing a book. And writing a book in the scale of novels is complicated enough already.
And also, they have to price it right. The price should be low enough for most people in different regions across the globe to afford, but the story must be gripping as well, and not written badly of "cliche-ly" if you know what I mean.
Download MWO, and from there players can buy the "episodes" or "books," "novels" or whatever you want to call it wherein the player doesn't just read the story, s/he must be in the story. "Linear" story or "different ending based on player choices" story, whatever.
This game alone has the potential to even revive the waning PC joystick industry.

I would pay $2 for customer decal or logo for my mechs, but I personaly paying $30 to buy a mech is a bit too much. Considering I have mastered Stalker and can't get a Misery if I don't want to pay $30, I guess Misery will stay on back burner till it goes on sale, or I could get it really cheap. I would pay many mil of c-bills for it tho... even if I have to work many days and nights to raise the cash

I'd pay for the ability to prevent any gameplay-altering item of any type (including hero mechs, and anyone who says those are justifiable because they're not "objectively better" can kiss my ***) from ever being money only. I don't care if the hero mechs would end up being ~30mil CBs, at least they'd be accessible to people who can't afford to pay for them otherwise.

I agree, I would pay for no PTW! Excellent point even though you made my head hurt with the grammar! Maybe cause I'm drunk.
