I'd pay to have the PPC sound reverted back when it sounded good.

I'd play for a fully-featured OFFLINE mode with campaign, as well as with multiplayer support for said Campaign mode.

I'd also kickstart any kind of chain storyline PvE missions. (Maybe run it in yearly episodes?) I really don't enjoy high-ping PvP especially when I'm seeing my shots land and no damage registering.

I would pay for Unique Mechs that are most likely not on the list to put in the game because of not enough variants or another mech fills the roll. for Example... I doubt the Mauler will ever be put in but it is favorite mech of mine especially if we do faction wars it should be but Got a feeling it won't be there. Plus I dont' think there is enough variants. SOOOO make it a Faction Unique? or a Hero Mech? Only one made. Wouldn't take up to much time to make. The list could go on.

1 to 12 player story campaigns. I would easily spend $100 for even one well written/designed mission.

Private servers for matches. Tribes: Ascend did this and it was/is a great source of income for those guys. On those private servers allow server owners to change things like stock/custom mechs allowed, tech level allowed, 3pv allowed/disallowed, and things like that.

Honestly, I don't really play any more play-for-free games any more because of the grind they present and I could get pulled away at any moment. I would more than happy if this was a $50 game and it came out with a bunch of DLCs for the new mechs maps, campaigns or even if there was a small monthly subscription. Not this will ever happen considering the current direction but if there was a full single and co-op campaign I would totally buy it.

Given that I would pay for:
  • Customization like other people suggest (i.e. uploading an image or getting a custom paint job, it would be worth a couple of bucks).
  • Hero/unique mechs along with mech bays is good, except it costs way too much...
  • Ease the grind is good
  • Content other than new mechs (although seeing the Vulture and Mad Cat in the near future would be good).
But the biggest thing is I want to know that I'm putting my money into something with clear goals regarding content and replayability. PvP gets old especially when it is just Conquest and Assault. I don't know what CW will pan out to be exactly but I want to know that there are different things to try. The website still only says conquest as an available game mode. I read the whole thing about 'no promises' but that doesn't make total sense either. Promise things you know can be delivered, gameplay aesthetics can be argued forever but you can just say, we are delivering x game modes, you will interact with the Mechwarrior Universe in this qualitative way, we are bringing you x planets to fight against the clans and they will be there in this update (we hope).

They've already said that they aren't going to sell anything that gives a player an advantage, and I guess that means mechs and weapons

So why can people buy 'Mechs, weapons, AND consumables for real$? That really sounds exactly like pay-to-win to me. Take the following scenario:

2 warring factions are attempting to determine the winner of a long fought war, in a series of final battles which have been building to a crescendo over a period of months. I'll say Clan Wolf and House Davion, for this example.

Clan Wolf has a wealthy benefactor who can afford to buy vast amounts of MC for his Clan mates, so they can all bring UAVs, Cool Shots, Artillery and Air Strikes to each fight in nearly unlimited quantities.

House Davion has no player willing to do that for it, and although many of it's members are paying fans of MWO, each of them still has a limited bankroll. House Davion's members' CBill accounts have been running low due to the long fought war, and so members of House Davion have to use their consumables much more sparingly.

Advantage: pay-to-win benefactor

I would disagree with all this less if consumables were *not* purchasable for MC. It's just too much of an exploitable situation.

I would only spend money on 'Mech bays, and perhaps a hero 'Mech or two, if they stand out. I would probably ask for a refund of that too if they nerfed one of the hero 'Mechs I had.

However, as it stands, I have far too much problem with the way they've structured the real$ environment to buy anything right now. Quite a bit will have to change before I open my wallet for this game.

what i would pay for, is a single player game with co-op features. for example, in the vein of mw4 mercs, youd have the host choosing missions repairing mechs and covering the costs etc and whoever joined that game would be hired as a merc, brining their own mech and weapons, or being provided one by the lance commander (host). the mercs would get a pay based on their skill lvl or kills or perhaps the tonnage they bring, an atlas pilot getting a higher portion of the mission pay than say a cougar. for the pvp side of things, id like the solaris games to be it. where u and ur mates can go up against other player lances in a variety of team based games like the iconic death match, or the generator raids or hold the line etc. that, to me would be spot on.

I would just love to see some of these mechs:

Light: Wasp, Falcon, Hermes, Valkyrie, Wolfhound

Medium: Hatchetman, Phoenix Hawk, Wolf Trap, Enforcer

Heavy: Axman, Archer, Black Knight

Assault: Hatamoto-Chi

If I could only pick one from each tier it would be, Valkyrie, Phoenix Hawk, Black Knight, and Hatamoto-Chi

Here's what I would pay for:

1. Actual game content, give us missions, mission packs or even campaigns based on the novels and the general setting.
2. Skin packs that apply to all your mechs
3. The ability to found a stock league and invite all sorts of players to join

A normal chat that encourages talking to other players.

ie a chat that is instanced in memory during whole game a bit after the end of the game. Also holding in keys would be a basic thing that i would pay for for. Also a chat that its not interrupted by the gamestart(ie after the intro startup) and that it has its own buffer so you can interrupt whenever you are typing something and just hop back to the chat and continue typing it whenever you can.

You know, like a decent chat that any developer worth 5 cents can put together in atleast a minimum of one hour.

I haven't made one friend inside mechwarrior online yet and i usually always make atleast one during social-must-online-games without resorting to having to go to a clanforum to get organized.

Ingame voice com without having to download external programs i would also pay for.

Its like Mechwarrior Online is a anti-social credit grind only game that you only play with friends you already have. Which makes me wanna play alot less and spend less MC(aka $) buying slots for new mechs.

TLDR:
Would pay for a better chat that spans and incorporates the whole game and spans outside the game engine instance.
Would pay for ingame voice chat without being forced to download external programs even tho they are free.

Hrm... perhaps a mech starter pack? One or two mechs of each of the Light, Medium, Heavy and Assault variety. Any mechs would do, so long as they accomidate a wide variety of playstyles. Essentially a "Starter Pack" for new people if they mess up spending their initial cadet bonus. Also, mech slots for said mechs.

Perhaps the
RVN - 2X
Spider 5D
Hunchback 4G
Quickdraw
Catapult A1

Buying them in a group should give a mild discount on if you purchased it all seperately with MC.

I would literally pay 3-500$ myself for the development and implementation of the Marauder chassis.

PGI pls. The marauder chassis is my favorite chassis, and it's one of the most iconic chassis in the entire lore...

Decal customization, skins, etc. are nice and all, and I'm sure people will pay for them, but I'm not likely to, personally.

I'd be more likely to pay for Mech Slots, Storage space, extra pilots, etc. Stuff that increases the breadth of my experience, overall. That said, if there are less Mech Slots available for free than there are roles to be played, you're going to see a massive imbalance in the number of people doing certain roles... so they should give us at least that many.

The other sort of thing I'd be undoubtedly willing to pay my hard-earned cash for would be Singleplayer/Coop Missions/Campaigns/etc. Could justify the cost of developing the AI, and it would fill the largest gap that the MMO style creates for a Mechwarrior game. In the same vein, I'd also pay for a version of the game that could, in fact, be modded for said campaigns and wot, or allow players to host their own servers with specific options/changes, more similar to how previous game's multiplayer worked. Were I the type for it, I shouldn't be entirely deprived of the option to, for instance, play NHUA games in whatever ridiculous Mech I wanted, so long as I was playing with other like-minded people, or, on the other end, Stock/TRO only matches and the like. Obviously, none of this should affect the progress of my pilots/mechs in the main, MMO part.

Finally, I might, depending on my time vs. Money, be willing to pay for more rapid advancement. Moving through the ranks at twice, or even just 1.5x the normal speed could be worth my money, and would certainly be worth a large portion of the playerbase's money. They'd get new toys faster, but I somehow doubt that it would imbalance the game... these people would also miss out on the skills developed as one works their way up to said toys in the free version, and it would not deprive any free players of any item paid players could get. In the same vein, a direct payment to receive in-game money (but not the other way around, or for experience) might also fall into the same vein, and discourage "gold farmers", and 3rd parties trying to do the same. This could be a bit imbalanced, but few things feel as rewarding as forcing the ***** in the other mech to pay $100 to replace his stupid design, or something along those lines (depending on how the game worked).

extra pilots?

I must admit, I would shell out good money for a Phoenix 2 set of redesigned Unseen BattleMechs, such as the Valkyrie, Phoenix Hawk, Warhammer, and Marauder II.
