Well, decided to go to Ten Ton Hammer by my own means rather than clicking that link. (I'm suspicous like that). This seems legit, I cant tell since i'm not signed up to them and I am a founder. But yeah, beta keys now available at ten ton hammer!

It is seriously legit; you're quite welcome to Google tentonhammer instead. They're a real gaming reporting site. already tested it myself (signed up for a key, provided a friend with the key)

I did the same, I checked it out and gave the key to a friend in hopes that he will join in on the action.

Would we not have heard something from piranha if they were giving away keys?

i just gotta add how stupid you guys are that reply'd like this is a virus or shifty, look at the poster, community master with 3686 posts on the MWO forums alone.

now why would anyone that spends THAT much time of the forums screw it all for a shifty link after posting 3686 posts.

not to mention i dont spend much time on the net and even i've heard of tentonhammer

Tentonhammer is a legit site, they give you a key that you can add to your MWO account; there's no shifty download, there's nothing fishy going on. I've been in MWO since June, and I even tested the key process before posting this.

No, this is pretty standard operating procedure.

I'm sure PC Gamer will have beta keys too pretty soon.

PS: TenTonHammer is a real gaming site.

Keys worked for my friends, good find being they were waiting to get in. Now only if we could find something like this to get keys for Mechwarrior Tactics.

MWT has the same publisher, I would be surprised if MWT did not do similar key giveaways, but they are still behind in production (compared to MWO). MWT's closed beta only started fairly recently.

Strange.. I'm having an insanely hard time trying to get it to work. I have two logins at that website, over 2 years old. Both will auto log me out when I try and click GET KEY button. When I click the button it says I've logged out and I have to sign in..just keeps looping.

People get hacked. Links can be spoofed.

Whenever someone posts a relatively short message on a forum with a link that promises great things it is always sensible to go at the issue sideways. I myself knew of ten ton hammer so I navigated there myself and confirmed this. I then checked the post and confirmed the link to be genuine.

It always pays to be vigilant in regards to internet security.

It is unfortunate PGI hasn't decided to share this promotional event with anyone which would alleviate any issues of suspicion, but of course a little internet vigilance never hurts. It's too bad so many people never hear of Ten Ton Hammer which is a great gaming news outlet site.

The PAX demo video for MWT shows the game is really in alpha state, gonna be a while before its really playable.
