Warhammer in a city environment. Shoot PPC until building collapses. Another building...Shoot PPC until building collapses. Shoot, until you remove all cover and you'll have your open landscape!!! J/K

No matter the terrain - i go with the Victor..it has a AC 20 and SRMs no other reasons needed for a mech that is designed for killing

Skill/dice are king, of course, but my money rides on the Victor here, given any configuration available at 3050. The Victor has more focused firepower, which means subsequent shots are more likely to induce crit rolls. It is just as fast as the Warhammer, in addition to its jump capability. It also has enough armor to prevent the Warhammer stripping a section at long range in one salvo, even if both PPCs hit the same location.

As for variant, I would be torn between the VTR-9B and VTR-9D; the 9B would slaughter a Warhammer at close range, and the 9D would be on even (if not better) footing at long range. If I were the pilot, though, I'd prefer a 9D.

Just my 2 C-bills, as always. :D

Warhammer. As someone said already, it's a Warhammer. That's all the reason I need.

I have always had a problem with the warhammers lack of leg armour. It has always been a problem for me.

Warhammers are one of the best Commander mechs in the game. this being said if we are in a city battle then Victors are the mech to use do to there greater mobility than the Warhammers, but if it is a flat plain with no debris in sight then the Warhammer wins.

Warhammer easy, the base Victor doesn't have the same reach. If you stand off at range, and watch the heat, the 'Hammer can be deadly. Hell, even the base Atlas would have trouble matching it at range with only an LRM20 to respond with.

I am unsure what qualifies the Warhammer as a command 'mech. The searchlight or the O/P Tracking system?

i voted warhammer because i pilot it better than victor my brother on the other hand loves the victor

and when we play together supporting eachother we rape all in our path except of those 24 elemental s that poped up out of no where and got between our legs

needless to say we killed our selves as a last ditch effort to make our reacters go boom so we take the pesky brats with us.

Well going by TT I'd say the Victor, the armor layout on the Warhammer is very light, and mostly concentrated on the ct and arms. Going by the TRO you got 15 points per leg, and 17 per the r/l torsos. Even the legs and ct only got 20 and 22. So it would be possible for a single pontiac shot to blow of a leg or destroy a side torso (which would also lose you the corresponding arm and ppc) and possible setting off an ammo explosion if its the right torso with the SRM ammo. A single shot would also strip all armor from the arms or ct, which would be bad since the Victors SRM's and lasers have the same range profile as the AC/20. Now the Victor has 20 points everywhere except for the arms which are 15, and the ct which is 30, so at least 2 PPC shots would be required to strip armor from everywhere, or penetrate the arms. If the fight occurs anywhere the Victor can use terrain and its jets to close with little or no damage, the Warhammer will probably go down (though with decent damage inflicted.) And remember the standard IS PPC only has twice the range of the IS AC/20, the Victor only has to get within 9 hexes (if going by TT) to start dishing out heavy ac shots supported by SRM's and lasers, at least if we're using standard tech, and even an ER PPC only adds 4 more hexes to the range. Warhammer only wins if it is a flat open area, and even then a few missed shots could cost it the match.

This is a no brainer. The Warhammer is the only choice. You have long range weapons that have twice the range of your opponent, and then when he gets in range, your now into you Med Range, while he is at long, and long on your secondary weapons. His Main weapon is ammo based, and your in energy based. and about the same in Armor. The only advantage that the Victor has is mobility with it's jump jets.

So it is simple,

Warhammer: has 2x PPC's, SRM-6, 2 Medium Lasers, 2 Small Lasers, 2 Machine Guns.

Victor: AC/20, 2 Medium Lasers, SRM-4

Waiting for the close kill. From bush to bush, the closing and do the autocannon 20 do the talk. No match from War Hammer, the overheating gunblaser.
