When the lasers were being fired, and the 'Mech twisted or moved, it left a series of after-effects, which I feel make them look, as I said, odd, almost as if the laser was firing repeatedly and leaving trails from multiple beams.

As for the MechLab, I'm greatly concerned about the amount of customization there will be.

It appears they are continuous beams, so you sweep them over the target. I guess it will cause damage over how long you sim it over the targeted area on the enemy, so it's not single shot like MW4.

I've never wanted to drive a Hunchback this much before.

So it is like MW4? lol I don't have any experience with the battletech TT game and that didn't explain what a critical slot is hehe.

I thought that, due to using CryEngine, that the animations would look silly (see MWLL). But it looks like CE3 has improved in that category. :P

That's not very fair. It's not a constraint on the engine, but a lack of animators on the team.

On topic: Glad some gameplay video is finally out, and it all looks great.

Looks like a pretty MW4 on steroids. Okies, same muscle memory applies to the controls, its all good.

Awesome stuff. Didn't see a core breach, but it makes sense that would be a little more rare than just a critical failure. Night battles should rock with all the dynamic lighting.

Where do I sign-up for the Beta? Or am I already?

Wow. Just wow. Oh and confirmed harpoints in the mechlab. I think that's the last thing I was looking for on my checklist. Yeah. I am rabid for this game.

A critical system is no way like MW4. You can put anything weapon, gadget, widget whatever in there as long there is enough critical space.

A hybrid hard point + critical systems will help against boating issues, since IS DHS are absolutely huge and ammunition actually takes up critical space. :P

I FREAKING LOVE IT. Only things I would nit-pick over personally is the missile animations at short range could use a little work, and the missiles seem really slow. Along with that, the AC/20 rounds seem to be quite slow as well. It isn't terrible, but it just seems a little too sluggish for a projectile to me.

But on the more important side; This looks flipping FANTASTIC. World of Tanks, watch out. Your end has been heralded, and you have fewer days remaining than you may realize!

Well, if the mechs were made to be simply gunbags (love that analogy) then there wouldn't be a reason for making variants. As for the 'boating' thing, I don't know why people have a problem with puting a lot of one weapon on a mech. It is certainly cannon. Take a look at the Swayback. It's a laser boat.

Limiting everything to "Critical space" such as was done pre-MW4, kind of breaks the game. Unless you are piloting an OmniMech, it isn't easy to pull out an LRM-20 launcher, and swap in a PPC. In fact, it would be a HUGE pain in the *** for your techies. Plus I have heard stories of what happened in MW3, 'Mechs having lasers in the legs and all over the place, because there were no restrictions with Critical space. MW4's hardpoint system was a fantastic idea, even if it was sometimes applied wrong on certain chassis.

It will also make omnimechs suitably overpowered when the clans invade. Going up against the clans should be really dangerous, even if they make the fights 12 vs. 10.
