If I bid vs. other clans for the right to fight I will be bidding low cause in table top and mektek the clan is easily better than 2 to 1 better for weight and by the time clans get here hopefully clan players will only be players that are at the top of skill and tech trees so we don't get new non skilled players sporting clan tech, cause that would be so against canon and fiction, now on the other hand if you want to put second tier clan players in the backwoods with their second tier clan tech vs IS then I am all for it

That is why go for a Hybrid system.
The Atlas has a 10 critical ballistic hardpoint in the right torso.
So he can fit any smaller ballistic gun there, but can't go any thing bigger.
If he fits a LB-10x or Rotary AC5 both which are smaller, the extra criticals go to non-hard point restricted equipment.
The Atlas left torso can fit a 7 critical missile hardpoint. So the pilot can squeeze in 2 LRM-15s instead of the usual LRM-20 + SRM6 combo and still have 1 critical space free for non-hard point restricted equipment.
Non-hard point restricted equipment are things like ammo, double heat sinks, ECM, AMS, CASE, FF armor crits, Stealth armor crits etc. The other little gadgets on a mech. And by putting Heatsinks and ammo as criticals in mechs, they can be shot off to affect the target negatively.
============
Of course Omni-mechs have NO restrictions on that. But they cannot change their engine speed, fixed equipment and cannot change their armor tonnage, type or layout.

Considering that PGI has pretty much everything wrong with previous games, I doubt it. As great as MW3 was, the mechlab was shart.
Projectiles seem a little slow, but otherwise, I don't see any problems with the game at all. Well done!

EDIT: Twice.
Thank you PGI... the video is exactly what I had hoped to see. I've been waiting years for this... and I'm even more confident than before that you guys have delivered the bacon... and everyone loves bacon.
All I have to ask is this:
Please give us a date so that I can go and request vacation time from work. I'm clearly going to need it.

What I am more interested in now is how the houses and planets will run.
Keep up the good work devs!

Really really like the damage you can see on the mechs, like glowing gold>? on atlas.. very nice.
visually looks really great. Saw many places where those dual xhairs are just gonna be psycho.!!!
..Liked the snip where the hunchy gets his arm blown off, liked the sound there. Am... just a hair concerned about some of the sounds.... kinda have gotten used to mwll ac20 sound.. its really rather nice, ac20 here sounded a bit muffled.. Speaking of sounds in the hunchy clip, the sound of him getting his arm blown off or whatnot was fantastic.. like a crash.
I am hoping........................... that ragdoll is in play for deaths? We didnt see alot of deaths, and atlas is massive , but am hoping that there will be great variety in the way mechs go down. In mwll u have your fall over, your nuke, and the one where u splode like you had a bunch of dynamite go off in your mech, kinda like a larger version of an ammo cookoff.
Its a detail that should be included if the devs took more than a cursury glance at mwll for research, which they probably did.
Yeah, ragdoll important, just blew the entire torso off a bushy tonight when i killed him. Never saw that in 3 years.
Well spoken Russ btw.. very well spoken.
Congrats guys.. looks ....great!

While I'm sure the PGI team got all sorts of kudos from their peers at the GDC... Poking their noggins into the forum and seeing us all gush over the game-play video like crushing school girls, has to give them some serious vindication for all their work to this point...
Salute guys... Take the constructive criticism for what it is and know you've done an outstanding job.
You've got my cash... and believe me, I'm a flipping tight-wad.

Combat looks and feels visceral.
As for scale, looking at the new video, its not the atlas thats too tall. Its the Its the Jenner thats way too short. Too short in comparison to both the hunchback and atlas. Hunchback looks about right next to the atlas, but would need clearer side by side shots.
