You're talking to a guy who shares his surname with Catherine and Audrey Hepburn, both famous actresses, and neither of the three are directly related to each other (At least as far as I know). I just meant that it seems far fetched to me that there are so many spare sons and daughters lying around the family decides to form a 300 strong infantry unit all in one go. I wasn't complaining I was just wanting to see some back story for it. I have this great scene in my mind. It goes a little something like:

You can guess which set gets stuck into the infantry.

Depending on how much I decide to play with the lemmings, which I am not sure of atm, especially since GAD III hasn't weighed in on my reduced version. I may or may not decide to work in more backstory as we go. but I think what they have currently for a background is enough to get the characters started. Plus you forget, Infantrymen love to share their stories around the campfire, I would know, My great-Grandpa was in the 101st in 1944. he used to tell that story every time i visited his house.

My Grandpa never mentioned it. He kept it a secret from the family up untill the day he died. We only found out at his funeral. Not sure if he was actually in the 101st, or what unit, but he did fight at Bastonge.

I got the war stories of dropping into normandy, but he says that he was in a hospital in England after being injured in Market Garden. So he did not participate in the battle of the bulge.

you already are in this merry band of misfits. you just never posted a bio

or maybe not... Gad III seems to have gotten rid of people who ceased to respond.

Also, if GAD III decides not to allow the lemmings, I made a scout mech on SSW.

Note: someone else may use this mech if they wish, however I will only be submitting it for my use if GAD III says no to the reduced lemmings. no pilot made for this things. Also I do not feel comfortable attempting 3 different sets of people for the roleplay, so this mech will only enter this rp if someone else wants to use it, or GAD III axes the lemmings and approves this.

Hope GAD III gets back on whether I can partake soon, this is looking like it'll be a great RP.

This is either going to be epic, or a massive train wreck. but will probably still be fun either way.

Hopefully not the second, but if it is I hope it's one of those slow-motion train wrecks since you can't look away.

sorry, long weekend of game and fancy dinners... I am getting ready to move so there may be a span of one or two day absences... The other half is headed out into the bush for the winter and I am going to be moving to South Anchorage, next week... ish? ANyway, Brother Grim and Ivan, welcome to the game, I am at this point closing the applications, so until noted we don't really need another player here... I may start a second game, set in a AR universe circa 3000ish in a month or so, but we shall see...

Now, Ima go update my OP and set things up. I will post the opening to the RP in about 8 to 9 hours... have to finish writing and editing it around the book I am working on.

Yesssss~

Question: Did I just miss something while I was reading through this and not notice that Ivan's and my character have the same callsign?

If I did no sweat, but it could be fun if we made something of it in the RP itself. The two characters going at it over the name or something to see who would have to change.

also gad, don't worry about axeing the lemmings. I didn't realize at first that the planet lifter took up 2 of the 4 slots. I just made them to be funny in the first place.

Still waiting on seeing if the Planetlifter is okay to bring along. I imagine that it'll take up a bunch of room in whatever dropship we have... Hell, we (I) may have to disassemble it before loading or unloading it.

Yeah, I generally drop a note at the end of this when I update the OP, but yes, your planet lifter goes. The wings and engines are removed and stored in one slot, and the rest is in another.

Also, Have fun with the Ghost/Ghost thing... I mean, how many stars, 5 houses... a mercenary world and a common call like that... oh yeah... there are about a million and one ghosts out there. Cheers!

I will also be opening the actual RP thread in about 2 hours.

Looking forward to it. Gonna post sometime tomorrow, I'll also be fluffing up my character as I go. As of right now, he's a hippieish/surfer/pothead who knows how to speak just enough French to whooo the girls and plays like two or three songs on guitar. Inside the Planetlifter he's gonna have a bunch of cargonets and random things. (no nukes, no weapons, no anything like that) Hust things that suggest that he lives on the plane. He'll have a hammok set up, though I'm not sure how that'd work in space...

A hammock wouldn't work too terribly actually, so long as he strapped himself inside. It'd almost be like sleeping while free-floating since the hammock would do twisty, spinny stuff whenever he rolled over. Although I guess that could get really weird/disorienting if you weren't used to it :)
