We are revamping our battalion structures and are once again accepting companies and units of up to battalion size. Larger units should contact me directly. The short version of this is that we believe the best performing units are those that are friends and have a history of working together. We take a fairly hands off approach to intra company management and instead assign mission or objectives and leave your team to make it happen. If you are looking for the strength of a large unit with the feel of your own familiar command structure. This is the place.

Current unit strength is now 4 full Battalions. We are still looking for more , particularly pilots who will make good officers

The Blackthornes are growing quickly, but not just to be big. The entire Blackthornes division is made up of fun people to play with and a mix of good to great players. There are currently 4-6 drop squads in the main group and a growing number of full companies operating under the Blackthorne umbrella.

I am a Widowmaker from the 2nd Battalion, 5th Dragoons. Our group, like many, others is kept at a fighting strength of 8 members plus a few to cover absentees. Why am I a Blackthorne? I like the freedom to make a full drop with any Blackthorne, and when it's time for team practice the Widowmakers drop together. There is room for the hyper competitive and the casual player. You don't have to be in a tournament group to play and members are never left out on their own. During the night the officers will help ensure the free play groups are as even as possible for everyone's success.

Become a Blackthorne, and if you want scout out a tournament company. No matter what, scrap some metal and best wishes.

Thanks for the post Markus, it is always great to see positive feedback from the companies. Dax has a great group going in the 2nd Battalion.

I joined up with the Blackthornes a few days ago. And I've got to say, I'm quite impressed with the level of organisation, friendliness and overall skill of the playerbase. My game experience on MWO did increase by a large margin after doing some actual strategic combat, as opposed to lone-wolfing in PUGs without any communication.

I would definately recommend this Mech Corp to anyone who wants to take their game to the next level. This is a mature, drama-free, friendly and organised bunch. B)

This is my second post on this topic, and here is why.

I am now a Captain in Blackthornes and with a full company, I would have never did this if I didnt like the environment and the people, this is a great place to have fun learning the game, so sign on up and lets drop together!

Hail Blackthornes!

Still disliking the drop system, but it is easier to drop as both 4 man and 8 man now with and against each other.

From an Aussie perspective:
Joined the Dragoons a month ago - have always had a good bunch of guys around to drop with.
Hassle free, very international and extremely competitive bunch of Mechheads.

Sign up and be an officer in the Australian time zones!

Ive been running with this corp for about three weeks now. Its been an absolute game changer for me. Blackthornes Dragoons FTW!!! Serriously though..... They are military freindly (which is a huge deal to me as I am Air Force). There are lots of prior service vetrans and currently serving members. Why is that important? Simply this, where else are you going to get this kind of tactical expertice? Aside from that, its a very friendly group of folks! Always willing to take in new members and teach you how not to get owned. Long story short. Joining the Blackthornes WILL be the best thing you do in MWO!

Recently joined with the Dragoons and must say its great to be part of a well organised group! Did a couple of trial drops with different units and the guys are organised, communicate and cool under fire.

And when the fire has gotten too hot and you've been cooked....well then its friendly chat and chill out until the mechs are repaired, rearmed and the next drop is been prepped!

We will continue to take applicants, but admission for review will be delayed for all except European and Asiatic players as we fill out 3rd Battalion. All other Battalions are American time zones.
