The team dynamic that I was looking for mostly related to how the team would interact before, during and after a drop.

Not many people give much thought to the concept of a team outside of a video game, but it's really important; if you don't have the chemistry in the team outside the game then having it inside the game will be much more difficult to match.

When I first encountered BWC, I knew that this must be a group that is very tight knit to work together as well as they did.

I joined their outfit and haven't looked back.

If you are looking for this tight knit group that takes their member base seriously, then look no further.

What I was looking for in a team:

I live on the West Coast of the U.S., and I found several teams were really only active during East Coast times, with maybe a couple members on around the time I played. I didn't want to have to play alone, but be in a team. So I sought a big team with a lot of members.
I was also looking for structure and discipline, but not over the top. When I was "shopping" for a team I dropped with several as a guest. I found some had a very loose "do whatever you want, however you want" attitude. Some would scatter 4 different directions with no plans, and some were the opposite wanting me to take a specific mech with a specific loadout.
With BWC I found the happy median. I found membership that guaranteed I'd have teammates to drop with, and I found the structure that allowed me to drop with a cohesive unit that could roll with flexibility.

I stated looking for a team to play with because the lack of organization was making the game play so so.

What I was looking for in a team

In MWO, I was looking for teamwork, discipline, accountability, structure, and camaraderie. Needless to say, PUGS weren't doing it for me. If it weren't for these qualities in BWC, I'm not sure if I wouldn't have already moved on from MWO or not. But now I'm here to stay.

What do I look for in a team...  I'll try to be concise!   As an at least semi-hardcore gamer this a big one to me. I Looking for a team in a MMO is the pretty much the same, imho, as looking for a team anywhere in one's life.  For me, that means the team is made up of good people. Yeah, I know. Duh. But I mean that more than just within the context of the game or tasks at hand, mind. I mean it more in that I can feel a sense of commitment to the team, which grows out of generally liking and trusting the people in the outfit, and just plain enjoying playing the game/hanging out with them.  I like a team that has structure, too. It's absolutely necessary to have a process with those checks and balances to prevent drama (which is the death of many companies, clans, guilds, heck friendships, etc). Finally, I look for leadership with integrity and intelligence, honor and humility. Without good leadership, teams fail. Leadership that has those qualities inspires them in the rest of the team. They are able to motivate everyone to become better--as a person overall let alone as a gamer.  Beyond that, it really depends upon the game I'm playing.  For MWO, like other games (e.g., PS 2), it was a team that hopefully understood military tactics (and their application), or at least was willing to experiment and be patient.

What I was looking for in a team:

When I first started MWO, sure it was fun to play in public games. Fun to stomp PUBs even. However, like every true mechwarrior will tell you, it is competition that truly gets the blood flowing. Fighting an opponent that is equal or better than you is fun. 8v8 games (soon 12v12) where you win by teamwork alongside trustworthy teammates is fun. By joining BWC, I have had the most fun in MWO. Our in-house only matches and events are just pure awesome, and I especially love our Duel Nights. Thus, I found the team I was looking for, a team that has fun, with the forward-looking leadership necessary to inspire every team member to enjoy MWO to the fullest. Thank you BWC!

What I was looking for in a team:
I need a big Company to join! Well organized and with a rich history. I wanted to be part of one team and not a group of individuals!

What I was looking for in a team

What I was looking for is a team that can really work together.
There are all sorts of "teams" out there. Some teams only share a flag or a name, others are living breathing single unit and many more are somewhere in between.

What I was looking for is unit where people don't only join up once in a while and do their own thing the rest of the time. I wanted a team where people understand how important it is to work together, how communications is the key for victory and how only by practicing together can these two work in the team.

I wanted a unit, friends and family to fight by my side.

This may seem like an interview to some readers, well it's exactly that. To give you an idea. To meet some of us. What was I looking for when I took the first step? Primarily - it would have to be a level of maturity and mutual respect among a common interest - gaming.

I was searching for fun and friendship in a framework that would enhance my own play and allow me to contribute where my skills allow. BWC is that place.

What I was looking for in a team.

I’ll admit to being spoiled to a degree. See, I’ve had the opportunity of working with some really great organizations. Organizations are made great, in large part, by the people in it. My personal preference runs toward the more motley, life on the fringe is always good for a laugh. But back to the point, when I started looking for a team to game with, I knew that it would have to have a particular character, a certain personality. If an organization didn’t fit me, I knew that it couldn’t keep either my attention or my loyalty.

So what was I looking for in a team? I wanted an environment that could balance dialed in professionalism, and a certain style of fun. Fun for me is competitive, self-depreciating, and seasoned with pop-culture references and friendly zingers. After a match, I like to laugh as much as I like to theorycraft what went right and what went wrong.

But beyond that, professionally I travel quite a bit, so I wanted a group that was big and flexible enough to support gaming in different time zones. In the past, I found most organizations were limited to certain time zones or languages. I need more flexibility than that, if I’m going to game with a group.

What I was looking for in a team:

Honestly when I started looking I didn't know what to expect, never having been in a group before. So I set myself some standards in order to narrow down the pool of possible groups. These expectations included: A focus on teamwork, a group that was serious but not like pro-serious/elitists, offered help to improve my game (so not just a group to play with but a group to get better with), and clean set of expectations from me so I knew before ever applying if I would be a fit. Note I am very picky and felt that if i was going to join a group I wanted it to be a group for the long haul.

My greatest memories in gaming are from being with a group of people who have dissected a game so thoroughly and coordinated so well that we could make something happen no matter the perceived odds. Teammates that are not only willing, but thrive on practice and getting on the same page takes you to a whole new level of gameplay.

It’s especially hard to find this elite level of gameplay that is free of elitism and is open to helping the broader game community. It requires a tight nit group of people.

I was looking for a team that had a lot of practice and variety of planned gameplay situations, from ones that had fun with lore, to others that really explored between relationships between each mech class and loadout. In this way we can really explore different roles on a really high level and become more complete players.

I was looking for coordination and fun in a team when I joined BWC. so far the outfit has delivered. The best part about the unit is there is always someone online. another great thing we do is social event in game like "intoxicated" operations where the only point is to have heaps of fun while playing the game's you love.

What I was looking for in a team:

What I was looking for when I started looking for a team to play with was, first off, epic iconography and name. What can I say, aesthetics are important. Since I had already been a part of a few teams that had just been put together and thus did not know what the hell they were doing, I wanted to find people who were already established, and knew what works and what doesn't(for the most part), knew what the hell teamwork was, and had a solid leadership, because without solid leadership, it was going to fail sooner or later.

I wanted to be in a clan that focused on tactics, strategy, and leadership all why focusing on fun teamwork (camaraderie). Being in the military, I want to know the best strategy about doing anything, even when it comes to gaming. So when I looked for clans to join I focused on these characteristics. Tactics: How to work together as a small-team. Strategy: How to perceive and analyze battlefield situations and adapt tactics to change the battlefield. Leadership: How to be a leader and how to teach others. Camaraderie: Working together as a team and understanding the other members of your squad.

I was looking for a team that organized, trained, and equipped toward winning. While in practice this would seem easy enough to do for a gaming community, but often the personalities and group dynamics can spoil the best of intentions. BWC does a good job of keeping the environment professional, but flexible enough for players to find their niche on the team.

What I was looking for in a team

So having decided I needed to join a team I knew I had to find like minded individuals. I wanted to join a team that wanted to win but wouldn't sacrifice enjoyment just for it. If the team dictated when and how you played I knew it wouldn't be the one for me. I knew I had to join a group that understood I had a life outside of the game. I am also a rotating shift worker with 12 hour shifts, schedules had to be loose so I could fit in. I wanted a team that wanted to win but also wanted to be good friends while doing. I had been in plenty of guilds in other games where if you weren't hardcore you cast aside. I wanted to avoid this again and join a group of players that would appreciate my skill set, even if they weren't the best in the game being played.

I wanted to find a group of people I could learn leadership skills from. I usually play alone, so when in a group, I’m hoping to gain more confidence playing with others.

What I was looking for in a team.

The most important thing to me in a team is organization. I want a team that will be highly coordinated, and be able to work fluently and effortlessly as a team. This often times takes a great deal of hierarchy and order within a teams structure, and often times it feels that most teams are just unorganized mobs of players. A team that can work everything out with a structure and a standard way of doing things is a team that can consistently win. I have looked for a long time to find a group of players that fit what I wanted out of a team, but I have finally found it in Black Widow Company.
