That's awesome, because I'm also considering putting forth an app (I'm not right now because I'm on vacation, not home back at base and suchlike) as a french-speaking, 31-yo military guy that loves what he sees in BWC, likes to have fun and wants to play MWO with people who know what they are doing and are doing it with style and gusto!

... as a matter of fact, it was a post on the french forum that brought me here! Something about 'Le Luciole' or whatnot...

Anyways, just wanted to introduce myself, 'cuz I'm polite like that.

We can have dueling Frenchmen!

"Sacre merde!"

"Non, mon ami, sacre BLEU!"

"I challenge you to a dieu-l! Le pistols at le dawn!"

"D'accord, I shall bring my baguette."

Yes, *BUT* only if you sign a contract stating that you will be available to say things, on-demand, in French. Like, "Ohhhh, le merde, it is Le Firefly!" or "Sacre bleu!" or "But I am le tired!"

Ha ha, you don't need to make me sign a contract for this, I was planning over-using the french accent already. But yeah, if I'm accepted I promise to live up to the clichés, grow a mustache and be grumpy as hell ! Bordel de merde ! (try censuring this, forum admin :P)

Yeah, that's the exact same post that brought me here. I thought "what the hell is this ? ... Ho yeah, google translate !"

Color me ignorant, but I decided to look and see exactly what a baguette is......I was WAY off. At least what I had in my head was made of bread, so I won't have to hate myself for more than a few minutes.

Yeah well...That happens . And I might add that even though a baguette looks just like a very big *****, it's actually very tasty and the best way the finish a nice dish because it very absorbant of the sauce. You should definitely try it.

Sooo...... Many..... clichés... I love it

I'm working on the app right now

I live in Wine Country, Sonoma CA, where our wines surpass those made by the French...bread and cheese go along with that. I also make my own fresh sausage and aged proscuitto from wild pigs. Those go really well with good wine, baguettes, and cheese. Many times over the long PS sessions of the farewell tour I've had plates of those and glasses of wine in front of me, providing sustenance while sitting in a gal transport waiting for warp. Must keep myself well fed for those long tower stands where we kill our enemies and make them waste resources while they attempt, sometimes in vain, to evict us.
We will bring that tenacity to MWO. Sound fun? Drop an app.

Yeah...You wish :P. We started making wine 2,500 years ago, that's right, even before Christ. We have bottles dating from before america was even found, so don't tell me that your Californian 100 years old wine is better please, we french don't have much to be proud of anymore, but our wine is still one of those product that cannot be immitated.

That being said, I have nothing but respect for californian wine which I believe is very good indeed. But it's just not the same. Like if you imitate a Picasso, sure you can draw it exactly the same 50 years later using brand new technology an copying every brush stroke, but in the end, it's still not not a masterpiece.

That being said (again), you sir just made me hungry a lot talking about sausage and bread and wine :D

Ah Zack...California just got it right faster than France! :P I can see we'll have some fun :lol:Yes, I like french wines too...I am drinking a 2009 Pinot Noir from Burgogne right now.

I'm going to a class in a couple of weeks to learn more charcuterie...making salumi! So many darn wild pigs here...almost as bad as Germany...must learn to put pork to best use. Nothing like a nice Anderson Valley Pinot Noir with pork. Maybe you could recommend a similar French wine and I'll do a side by side taste test.

I was an outfit commander on Emerald back in the Planetside days, right when I had gotten out of the Corps. I haven't played many games since, because I miss the solid teamwork, effort and preparation we always did before heading out of the sanc. (Daggum, life is gonna be hard with a new MW and PS2 launching so near each other). I'm pretty rusty and inexperienced the last years, as I switched to tabletop wargaming, but I'm just curious if there is any room on your team for a salty jock who hasn't been in the chair in ages.

Sounds like you'd fit right in, Rook - swing by http://the-bwc.com/smf/ when you get the chance...someone will get you squared away ASAP.

Hey Rook,

These guys are the right fit for you then. Jeez, I've only been with them a week...still a "recruit"...I've been online at PS with them pretty much every day and the teamwork, prep and training are top notch.

I'm discussing it with my core group of PS/MW buddies and trying to get the pendulum to swing towards this option. Sounds like my sort of gig, and I just noticed you guys are TR on PS, which means you have good taste and don't like it easy. Once I get a consensus, I'll slide some paperwork in your direction. Shouldn't be hard, just don't want to make some sort of unilateral decision.

We may have different opinions on wines (though only slightly), but we share the same tastes in food and drinks it appears :D. I probably killed ten thousand pigs in the course of my life with all the charcuterie I ate...

But though I like wine and drink it regularly, I'm not savant enough about it to advise you some bottles seen as I buy either "standard-good" bottles from parisian cavists, or bottles from super-small producers that are cheap but excellent...but not even close to even owning a website...

Still I'll try to find some "Anderson valley Pinot Noir" to give it a taste and see what the fuss is all about :(

Rook, bring the whole gang over with you. Between the re-vitalization of PS and the upcoming releases of MWO and PS2, I'm sure there's plenty of action for the whole family.

And to the rest of you who read this thread every day, but still haven't applied... well, I'm sure there's a reason, but if you get over it, hit up the BWC forums for more information on who we are and what makes BWC the best outfit to be found.
