We MERCENARIES do not get to show OUR PRIDE. PLEASE MAKE A PLACE FOR US TO!!

As was pointed out to me by a Moderator, there is no place for a mercenary base, except for in the recruiting section. All the houses have a Faction repository. I will Share my Message I have sent on. It explains my thoughts, well enough, and I just want to copy and paste then go, I am hungry. LOL

This was my message:
Greetings Lords, and Lordlings :D . I request that there be a place for Mercenary groups to call Home. The Great Houses have such status, a place apart from the recruiting hall, where all in house debates, divisions, plans and etc. is "on" topic. We have found at the our recruiting station, that house politics, and recruiting do not mix well.

If you would please seriously consider, then act positively(agree with me), and create a place for us among the Great Houses "'Faction Talk".

The way to do it with the most work, but, the most pleasant to me, would be a recognition of each "approved" Merc unit. The worthy Getting House status, the rest?

The easiest, yet also very acceptable, would be a Mercenary House. Each Unit could represent itself there. If you want to follow a precedent, how about "Outreach?"

Also, As each mercenary unit will have a presence in the house which holds it's contract, we all know that contracts expire, allegiances change, so a seperate Home should always be sustained.

I have started a Topic/thread for our Base. It was in General Discussion, but was moved to Recruiting by the "Grimm one" , I probably should have put it in "Jettisoned," and will ask for that to happen, (only as the last option).

I feel this would be a boon to the MWO establishment, and a reasonable concession to the lesser among you, we the Mercenary units. Thank you Staff, our MWO Lords, your's at need, uncle danno ;)

so how will the recruiting work anyway?
I know people will join units but it seems they will have to organize
themselves , so how will you organize to drop together ,
or just how will it work getting into a game / battle ?

I know I am only a small cog in the machine, yet I am very suprised that nobody has peeked over to the next cubilcle to say," hey, sorry man, can't do it, too busy." Or, "good Idea, let me get someone on it." rejected again, boo hoo............

Yeah, sounds like a valid request, just call that new subforum "House of ill repute", that should always peak some interest. ;)

A Merc subforum would indeed be nice (not just the one for recruiting). ;)

Yes, though I suppose the disapointment factor would bring a backlash, and, well some of us might have standards to guard at least, if not to protect..

How about The House of,"Pay Up, O Get Out:Merc Corps."

ok I have an Idea , all of us Mercs need to get to form a Union and then we can go on a "strike"

yay thats it, none of us will play until Beta, that will show them, we have all the power here!

so DEVs get your s**t together or we just might even stop posting about dinosaurs and player
controlled dropships or even the coffee bar.

?????????????

please forgive me

I support this, even though my unit isn't very likely to use it.

I do not see this as something necessary. The Merc Corp Recruiting section is plenty.

Also, not the best of ideas to spam people's threads.

Well sorry it was seen as spam. Mr. Mason posted to me, letting me know there were complaints. I see I was wrong, that intention and actions are not always perceived the same by each other in human interactions. Sorry. I myself meant nothing but camaraderie and respect. I posted and quoted, I went to those most respected in my opinion (not enough time for all respected though). Never thought it was bad, but I guess I was wrong. Sorry Dihm, I did not mean to be annoying. I do see the idea of Outreach as helpful, and I will continue to try to get support, but I do not want to burn any bridges, it only rubs a little anyway. The Houses have a separate place. Their recruiting is not mixed with house politics, ours has to be at this point. Most respectfully uncle danno.

This brings two subjects to mind really. The core one being discussed here today. I certainly would support such a forum, though one thing to note is the Devs have pretty much said nothing about the core details surrounding Merc Corps, and how they will work, so lack of said forum might be tied to this. However, again I would support such a move. As mentioned the only place to discuss anything around the Merc Crops is the recruitment forum, and that is not the place to be discussing anything other than the primary topic.

Considering the Merc Corp recruitment thread also, which as the game grows becomes larger and larger and harder to find the right group for you. This is something EVE Online has issues with, certainly if you just look at their recruitment forum. I'd like to see all this tied together inside the game. Allowing recruitment, politics and the wider meta-game. Giving Merc Corp the right tools to make the most of the game only has positive benefits for the game its self.

I believe we might have to wait longer to find out how deep Merc Corp interaction goes within the game, and the tools to support such. If a Merc Corp forum aids communication, and meta-gaming aspects then I am all for it.

I'd love to see an "Outreach" added. It would be nice for us Merc Units to have someplace to mingle.

me as well, Outreach and/or Gallatea; making Outreach as it was in the fiction where the top of the line merc units went, so there should be an ingame cost for its use along the lines of how House pilots and units will get better/cheaper more gear when they get higher ratings. Perhaps new merc units start in the Periphery or at one of the older Merc hang outs and when they get better, they can end up on Outreach. Just saying it could be used as a big carrot hanging in front of our collective merc faces to make us want to work hard so we can say Our unit is big enough even Wolf's Dragoons let us hang out on Outreach.

damn. i typed a hyper long text and firefox crashed -.-
ok, a short summary, cause its really late:

1. we dont know how merc units/contracts will work, lets just wait and see.
2. a new subforum is unnecessary, cause we already have one. its called merc corp recruiting. what exactly we are going to do with it, is left to us.
3. getting a house status for the mercenaries is absurd. the mercs in the BT-universe never acted as one. ok, they had contracts where they had to support each other, but they were just hired to do so. most time they fought each other.
4. working for a Great House in MWO means to earn reputation for this house. how exactly should it work with the (hypothetical) Merc house? getting better rep means getting friendly with someone. so if we do jobs for the merc house, we will getting a friendly status with all merc units, even the one´s we a re fighting with?
5. if the mercs are going to found a coallition and help each other, then its ok. let them do so.
6. the idea of doing jobs for other units is great. but there you must look how it will work out with the payment. by working for a house you are paid by the House itself (Ingame its some mysterious creature called AI). so no one have to bring up that money. working for an another unit means THIS UNIT has to pay. well and if that could be implemented, it could be just great. but i see a lot of potential of misuse here. for example paying a lot of money for a easy contract to a buddy, whom i (an experienced and rich veteran someday) will help.

just my 2 cent

Not sure, it is in the Blogs probably, or at least the ideas will be there, just need to use the search bar. There will probably be a join feature for a drop, unit will probably confirm or deny others entry?
