The Cataphract has potential, good range and short support in 4 ML's but uses an XL engine to boot and with a cost of 13+Million C-Bills...ouch
The Caesar has firepower at ranges but is a tad slow and uses an XL engine and is a tad rounded to boot.
I can BUY 2 Guillotine's for any 1 of the others and it has pretty good punch, looks alright and does not have an XL engine.
So, simply for economic value I select the Guillotine as the wiener.

It also brings something to the table that is missing from our current mech mix, a heavy line of battlemech. So for fluff, lore and balance reasons my vote goes to the Cataphract.
PS the reason why the Caesar and Cataphract look similiar is that the Caesar was based on the Cataphract design. The fluff is that the project was done to hide the Axman development and testing so it had be a "quick and dirty" redesign.

I'm surprised ANY of these mechs are in the poll when there are other way more cool and iconic mechs in this range.
I had to abstain from this one

Let's be honest here, would the poll even have a purpose if I had added a certain 'Mech that starts with a War and ends with a hammer?

You are not quite right with two things: first, it's a Caesar who was copied from Cataphract design and could be called as its high-tech descendant; second, it's not reasonable to compare Caesar CES-3R released in 3049 with Cataphract CTF-1X prototype presented in 3025. Correct comparison should be done with CTF-3L variant of 3036:
Quote
Caesar loses in mobility and armor, lacks medium range armament, but has better long range punch due to gauss rifle, but I would trade mobility of CFT-3L over CES-3R any day.
Winner: Cataphract
