You have to remember this game has to grow to succeed, as stated above that means you need "hooks" to keep new players that are trying it out. I'm a hardcore mechwarrior lover, but I enjoy coop and rpg/story modes, every once in a while with friends on my team I like pvp. To bring more people, it needs to appeal to a larger customer base. If you've already paid for the game and play it alot, your opinion is biased, and they have no real need to create a hook for you. Personally, I check back with the game here and there to see if they've decided to add features like this, but so far I see 80% of posts on this forum (from Elite Founders in alot of cases...) just attacking any suggestions. This is BETA, its all about suggestion. To customize or design you own mech (my favorite part of the game) you either pay money or spend many hours in the game before you can even look at customizing a mech, all mechwarrior games have glorified the ability to fully customize the layout. I'll pay full new game price for a real mechwarrior, this is just using its name and cookie cutting some of its idea's, a true mechwarrior game would be like any of the first four, not a totally new thing that has a few recognizable features. Oh well, back to world of warplanes and WoW, check back in another couple of weeks.

This.

there's no excuse for anyone, new player or not to say there's no customization. the fact that it's supposedly a review makes this an even more glaring error.

unless you're incredibly blind, stupid or both, there is no reason you would not be able to locate the customization options in the hangar. and this goes double for any supposed reviewer.

that guy's a disgrace.

that's nice. when are they going to develop a game i want to play instead of a piece of crap that psychologically manipulates me into wanting to play?

PGI ruined the game in many ways. I understand the need for cash flow but many people will turn away from or give up on the game before it is more fully developed.
First releasing the founder's packages. Instead of an assault mech being a rare sight, assault mechs are every where. How can you build a game now with RPG elements if you can plunk down some $$$ and have an Atlas.
Second with the economy is still in development and somewhat frustrating
Third if you have scenarios that are "Kill the other mechs" then there is a tendency to assault mechs with the best build. If this is as involved as the game will be it will not last two years.
Fourth people love to customize mechs and try them out. If PGI sicks with the non-canon restricts on building mechs they will lose some of the market right off.

The problem with WoT is that it started out as a poor game and it still is. The whole artillery fiasco is just one example. Spending money doesn't help if the developers aren't competent and the producers have a poor vision for the game.

Like the lack of an ingame Territory Capture Map. Fight after fight in public maps that mean nothing to the larger game world. I want my fights to mean something.
