Indeed let me know what I can do to be a possibility. I am happy to enforce rules and promote and encourage positive discussion and a friendly atmosphere.

Let me know if there's anything I can do for you :). I've been around the MMO scene for quite a long time, and I value other people's opinions to be shared :D!

How can you expect a ninja? You can't even see them!

Expecting ninjas? Isn't that like expecting the Spanish Inquisition?

Glad to hear that we're finally getting some official moderators, but it took you guys long enough. Yes, that's sarcasm...

:)

Gentlemen I do believe that they have been combing the boards and will chose their own, based on the posting that has been going on so far...or maybe they will just hire some. But I would like us to be able to save them a buck and community moderate ourselves, though this is official stuff that may not happen.

Glad to hear it! I am sure Kyle is being over whelmed here... and by his title I guess he is also busy with the actual development of the site itself... I would like him to work on that and not need to be using all his valuable time watching the forums.

As Amarus Said, why are you asking... is not the common rule of thumb is if you tend to ask, you get taken out of the lineup?

I, for one, are glad to meet our Ninja Overlords. As for volunteer moderators, I'm sure there will be information stickied somewhere about it in the near future. It really doesn't help to just jump with your hand raised going "Pick me! Pick me!". Remember time reveals all.

This topic is one giant pick me sign.

Personally I would love to say people in Vancouver should be picked so we can go to meetings, but I know that isn't realistic. Apart from that there should be some worldwide spread of mods so that it is not centralized in a few time zones. Although GMT-5 through GMT-8 are the majority of the market, there are plenty of players in Europe and Asia as well (If the German BT community is anything to go by).

Mods don't have to be prolific posters, however they have to know the difference between a personal post and a corporate post, and to mitigate differences. They keep the boards civil without becoming a censor. They help the newbies find the right forums and feel welcome.

Honestly if any of the mods from the Classic Battletech forums came over to this site, I would definitely recommend them. They know where to draw the line and are knowledgeable about the universe.

Just me $0.02

Mechwarrior fan since Mechwarrior 2 (I even bought Mechassault: Phantom War for the DS)

Use volunteers if ya can and please dont promise em free anything. If ya decide to add it later thats great but make sure ya get people who want to do it for the right reasons. To help the Community :)
