Something that hasn’t been fully acknowledged is that our PGI devs actually read our posts, engage with the community, and provide feedback at a level I've never seen before by any game devs. To them I want to say Thank You! I hope we haven’t been too much of a unruly bunch.

To the rest of the community, Enjoy it while you can! Because not long after launch of this F2P game the support pages open up and these forums will be challenged with a lot more flame threads and problem users. I’m sure Garth and the community mods will keep a tight ship here but the level of open and personal contact with the devs will no doubt not be the same.

So thanks, guys, for what you do. It’s beyond the call.

Yeah it's been pretty amazing. My geek heart skipped a beat when I realized that Garth (yes Garth) was actually the first response to a thread I posted, I think it was at that moment that I realized just how devoted this team was and how really excited I have been for this game. Ever since I've been glued to these forums all day at work, posting and eagerly awaiting a time when he does it again. (I don't think my heart could take it)

I know the feeling, I've been quoted as saying "the urge to take off all my clothes and hurl money at them is getting harder to resist" of course now that I think about it, I don't know why I need to throw money at them naked...guess it just adds to the effect.

I have to say, of the many gaming communities I've been involved with over the years, this is absolutely the strongest sense of community I've seen. Fantastic info both from the devs and the incredibly knowledgeable player base.

Good stuff!

The only thing I can think to add after all these insightful posts is....

"Wait... We have to throw money naked for style points? Oh NOW they tell me! To think of all the style points I've wasted remaining fully clothed!!!"

All joking aside, allow me to add my thanks as well. Devs are doing an AMAZING job!

I'm super protective of you guys. When we call you 'our community', we mean it.

Also, thank you for the praise. I'll pass the link to this thread around.

It might be difficult to imagine, but making games can be incredibly hard when the people who are supposed to be your fans just complain and poke holes into everything you release.

We're all MechWarriors here.

Garth who? I thought CoffiNail was our community manager ?

It is fairly rare to see a company so involved with its community and willing to share/exchange/Troll ideas.

Kudos to all those we interactive with on a daily (Hourly/minute by minute basis for some of us Obsessive FanBois) basis and those hard working folks behind the scenes who are doing the REAL work while Paul takes all the glory.

Cheers!

Well, I cant say that communicating with the community, actually taking time to listen to feedback we have on their product and such is really "beyond the call of duty"...its more along the lines of what a Dev team SHOULD be doing all along....I mean, unless you want to be like Wargaming over at World of Tanks who takes what their customers say and throw it down the drain...that doesnt make for a very successful, long term company. Taking the customer base's opinions and actually taking time to consider them and maybe work them into the game will only mean the company grows, the game stays strong and that means more $$$ for PGI which in turn they could use to further expand the game and make it only better......its win/win/win/win/win/win....see...WG, they should get a clue.

I was just looking into writing my own thank you Threat . Honestly i have been around many beta game forums and around many game forums in general and i never have seen it in any place where the lead designer or any of the designer team took the moment time to answered inside a threat. So thank you for giving us the feeling of being actually welcome here. B) :D

I have to agree that this is one of the best game communities I've seen since World War II Online. WWIIO had people paying the monthly subscription just to use the forums. I've already said it once and it bares repeating. I really believe the right people are making this game. My hat's off to all the PGI crew.

You'll always have more people pipe up with a complaint than to take the time and give a compliment, sad as it is. Also, the vast majority of people I've seen don't know how to provide constructive feedback. You get something like "I HATE THIS GAME! I HATE IT!"

And when you ask them what's wrong, you find out their issue can be resolved with a single solution in the options screen and then they're like "Sweet! This is a fun game!". They're like some kind of absolute drama queen where 1 issue utterly obliterates all forms of entertainment from the game. That, or they can't even convey what their issue is.

Take some time to say "Great job!" Creative types take feedback pretty personally.

This is very true! I had so many issues when I try to read user (and even sometime official) reviews of games and all I can get out of it is "This game sucks, waste of money...etc..." and why you may ask? Well cuz it sucks thats why! Thanks guys... really helpful feedback...
