One thing I can say for sure is that they have my respect, and that's not easy to earn these days.

Have to agree with the OP. The dev interaction with the community is top notch. Much higher then most official game forums.

Thanks LakeDaemon and all. But you all still aren't getting into Beta!

I keeed. As mentioned by all staff posts, we appreciate our entire community for better and for worse. I haven't had to start drinking yet and that's good. We look forward to moving step by step to that magical date you're all waiting for and the entire team is jazzed about getting it into your hands.

Only a little while longer folks.

It's awesome reading the forums and seeing the love and passion you guys have for the game, we're huge fans too obviously but nothing picks the spirits up like seeing threads like this on the forums after a day slogging to make it a reality

It seems restrained enough not to be Banhamma City, but dead/trolly/spammy topics get cleaned up quickly, and while the community gets a little feisty with each other here and there, it's so far stayed pretty "clean". I can always appreciate subtle orchestration, so hat's off to the moderator team, as well!

All thanks there go to our awesome Moderators. I cannot take the credit for the sheer amount of work they do B)

Seriously though, our Mods are awesome, give them a hand too

PS. Playtest fridays are hilarious. I watched Thomas (look for him in the interview this month) overheat his Swayback to explosion four times in a row.

The love in these forums makes me woozy, so woozy I copied and pasted a poem just recently found on the internet below.

Roses are red
Violets are blue
I have Schizophrenia
And so do I

Glad to hear heat build-up is being addressed seriously! This just made my day! B)

It's actually incredible getting into a topic discussing a mechanical fact about combat, and suddenly one of the guys making the game hops in and gives his opinion... that's shocking.

We may be a good or bad bunch of geeks, but this is the first time i see such a thing from a developement team. The way the developing companies use to be is having a guy replying to some of the comments in an uncompromisingly manner, not the programmers themselves giving facts and info about the release daily.

Thanks a lot for that, guys.

That was me when I found out what was happening here. Pretty sure I registered my name within an hour of IGN telling the world about MWO.

And yes, I am just spamming random pics for more "likes".

Something that hasn’t been fully acknowledged is that our PGI devs actually read our posts, engage with the community, and provide feedback at a level I've never seen before by any game devs. To them I want to say Thank You! I hope we haven’t been too much of a unruly bunch.

To the rest of the community, Enjoy it while you can! Because not long after launch of this F2P game the support pages open up and these forums will be challenged with a lot more flame threads and problem users. I’m sure Garth and the community mods will keep a tight ship here but the level of open and personal contact with the devs will no doubt not be the same.

So thanks, guys, for what you do. It’s beyond the call.

Agree whole heartedly! Thanks for listening to the community nad making this a one of a kind experience with developement of something we all love.

Can we please see a video of a Swayback overheating itself and exploding? Pretty please? I'll be your friend :<

Oh come on you only said a "little" while!

It is fun to see you guys come by though. Even if you don't take anything we say with any seriousness ever, at least you smile and nod before running away.

Somebody didn't get the memo that heat limits were turned back on, it seems.

I hate to rain on everyones parade but i have to say:

Wait for after launch.

Wait for all the trolls, nerf callers, imba yellers and all the other goblins that crawl out of the dark after a game is launched.

Look at the forums of other online games... thats what we will be getting here too.

Both the Devs and the community should really enjoy the pre release phase on this forum cause its never going to be as good as it is right now.

I for one hope that this community will keep a certain standard so that the Devs still want to hang out with us on the forums but i wont hold my breath for it.

So you CAN suicide-alpha-bomb the enemy!

Edit: Oh, topicality; the Dev's are awesome. It seems like a giant team of small-team developers who actually care about what they're doing and what others can do with it.

The devs have built up plenty of good will, the warm fuzzies will continue for quite some time, no worries
