Err no, I'd love some more stupid targets tbh. But in my opinion, the game isn't ready for the general public unless they want to drive half the initial wave away.

Gyranthir: Thank you for finding and posting those links. I will have to believe it now if they post it on the actual pcgamer and gamespy website because of their reputation.

Funny that there wasn't anything published on the forums or directly on the website.

Not gonna lie I really don't want my Premium Time starting till we're out of 'Beta'. I don't care about stuff being reset or anything. I just want to get to play and then when the game is 85% stable and such then let me start my time =/

Edit, Your premium time just affects what you have for builds, so build what you can, and you will have it for the CW launch.

So the pemium time isn't going to reset when the game actually goes gold?

Boy, is this game not even close to open beta status. The game and graphical options are maybe half finished ( I expect to be able to scroll down a long list of options, or I'm going to be annoyed). Game content won't even be fully deployed, much less balanced and stabilized. They don't even have SLI support yet! Everybody get behind something, this is going to be messy.

At this point i really am glad to not have purchased a founders package. I dont want to be mean and i think the game will be great but open beta start with next weeks patch seems premature to me.

ALL i've found personally to answer that is that when it goes open beta we get reset, and others have indicated that this is the last reset. ever. so idk either and i would like to lol

Also, does anyone know when they are going to stop selling the founders packages? i'm still trying to get a buddy to buy one

I am deeply concerned about the announcement of Open Beta starting next week. Yesterday's patch felt like a downgrade. The new server lag issues, graphics issues (the washed out unfixable gamma levels), bugged MechLab (well, that one is not really new) caused my nightly gaming group to stop playing for the first time with the general consensus of "we need to wait till they fix this." While I am very much for allowing ALL players to join MechWarrior, it feels like they will be punishing founders by starting premium time with partially broken game.

Recommended Solution: Allow MechWarrior Founders to press a button to activate their Premium time. Until the premium time is activated, it will just sit there. This way, players who want it right away can get started, and players who are upset can hold off a little bit to start it. (Maximum of 2 months or the premium time will begin automatically.)

considering that the last patch made the game even buggier than the last time, with more crashing and disconnects AND weird graphic glitchs (half my matchs can't use night vision or thermal vision without blacking out the entire screen) don't look like a good idea to me.

But launching the beta with only HALF of the mechs promised for the start of the game, less than half of the weapons available in the timeline in-game (anyone remember MRM's???), with half the weapons that made it to the game are useless (anyone actually uses AC/2 for more than tonnage waste?) and only 4 maps to play, that looks like suicide to me.

Only real thing I've had problems with is lag after the newest patch, but I know others are complaining of different things. I would like to point out a couple of things though.

1.) MRMs are not in the universe yet. They don't come out until 3058. The game is currently in 3049. We have 9 years to go before MRMs make their debut. All the weapon systems we have in the game right now are correct for the time, and none are missing that I can think of, granted some could use work (PPC's I'm looking at you!)

2.) AC/2 are nasty chain fired in groups. They rock you like crazy, and unlike machine guns, they actually do damage.

3.) Four maps is pretty generous for a MOBA style game (because lets face it, right now that is what it is). LoL only has 3 right now, and it is the biggest MOBA out there. And we should be getting more here in a relatively short time.

Hopefully the October 16th "Open Beta" patch will hopefully address most, if not all of these issues, and hopefully it won't boink them or bring about more. But I guess we shall see when it actually happens.

When MW4 Vengeance came out it was sold as a full game. Micro$$oft rushed it and apparently didn't even look at previous titles as the state of the game was pitiful until P1. I mean really they released a MW title with no way to tell what weapon you were firing or what weapon group was active. They further developed this game and sold us the black knight expansion .

Then two years or so later MW4 Mercs is released as basically the polished game we should have been sold as Vengeance. I always said we paid to play the beta MW4 V ($60) we paid more for black knight expansion ($60) then we bought the real game when MW4 Mercs ($60) came out. Lets not forget the clan packs to unlock more mechs ($20 ea).

I see nothing has changed in the gaming industry. I wonder if this game will even be active a year or dare say two from now.

I have been looking at buying a founders pack but need to rebuild my computer before I can play.

open beta at this stage of the game? no way.. someone must be forcing the devs to do so.. they must know that this is pure madness.. too many bugs left, too much content missing..

go into open beta in this state and u will loose every player who joins in open beta and is not hardcore fan..

its just .. nah they cant do this...

I think when they said "Minimally Viable Product" they actually meant "Least Viable Product".

And World of Tanks, which is a far more similar comparison, has 30+. 4 maps is hugely underwhelming.

This has been the refrain since closed beta began - the next patch was going to be the miracle! The dev build was so far ahead we were all going to be blown away! Pay no mind to the whistle, that light at the end of the tunnel is NOT an onrushing train! I think that ship has sailed by now. Foundational issues remain on all levels, from netcode to graphics to performance to balance. The issue is not "It's still beta so it's OK for it to suck!" The question is whether or not they've progressed enough that the product is ready for open beta.

And regardless of what you think the answer to that question is, you have to be concerned about reception. You can be as insulting to the general population as you want about whether they understand what "beta" means, it won't change the reality of their perceptions. More importantly, if they really are going to start ticking off the premium time, then it doesn't matter. Once you're taking people's money, you don't get to use the "It's just beta" any more. Making people pay you to test is hugely unethical, and people inherently understand this because it manifests as expectations for a level of quality once they start giving you money. Again, I'll go to World of Tanks for the comparison. Throughout beta, you couldn't buy gold - you got a fixed allowance given to you each day to use as you will. When they launched for real, everything was wiped out and you could start giving them money. That's the right way to do it.

I was pretty deeply unimpressed with MWO anyway - they managed to put better graphics and a pay structure around a 10-year-old game without fixing ANY of the actual problems in the game. They're trying to cash in on F2P battlers while obviously having no understanding of what actually makes people keep playing them. I was willing to wait and see what it looked like when they finally launched it, and now I know.
