As Banditman listed, I was active with the Templars on TKZ (proudly reaching the vaunted level of White Knight and Loremaster) and not so much with Cloud Cobra on Grand Council. After that got out of MW for a long while. Migrated to Tribes when MW2 died, but then got tired of getting tagged by LPB's. Still, I have kept the nick "Sir Roland" on almost every game I play, and that started on MW2 with with TKZ on Kali.

MWO has brought me out of retirement, and the Templars are reforming. It's great to see it all happening again, as the TKZ play was some of the most fun I've ever had online. I also recognize many of the names on here, if not necessarily the context as to which fight, (friend or foe.)

As Loremaster of the Templars back in the day, I was responsible for keeping a log of our battles, and many of them I turned into short stories for entertainment purposes. One of the longest (in a series of several installments) was called "The Occupation of Mourning Peak", in which Clan Black Jackal took one of the planets that the Templars possessed. I think this was about the time that Tribes was becoming the game to play, and many Templars were migrating over to that game and league, so the story was a transition from Mechwarrior to Tribes. I'm not sure if you remember the fight, but it was one of the few times the Templars lost a battle to a Clan.

Ya Tyr been hanging out for a new MW game forever (do you remember the name of SJ Khan when we first Joined SJ in GC? its on the tip of my tounge..). When I first joined I think Caius was Khan and then Lionclaw maybe. I think at some point after that maybe Sun-Tzu and xdot ran things. Could be missing a couple in there too.

[CBS]Natedog here. Netmech....Kali....Lag shooting.....lobbing LRM20's around buildings....ahhhh the good ole days. Unless someone is still holding a grudge because of me taking their woman, which did happen on occasion. Hey! Not my fault I pilot better drunk than sober shouldn't have bet me your woman.

And I see a lot of familiar faces. Glad my memory hasn't gotten that bad (between the black outs atleast).

Wow - really happy to see some of the names on here. My outlook on MWO just increased knowing that old players from "my day" are back. It's good to see CBS again, and a lot of really strong players from that era.

I started out in Kali summer of 1996 as RFR - probably best known as [HJ]-Lynxcat. Been in & running HJ on and off since then, we spent a lot of time in Starsiege and MW4 after NM finally faded - most of the original players are still in & active, planning on playing MWO. For those who remember Clan Godzilla, a lot of those guys are with us now, along with much of the 4H from TKZ.

For those who have -bad- memories, relax. People grow up a lot 16 years. They have kids and calm the hell down.

The old teams should unite and teach these new kids a thing or three about their 'mechs.

I got my online start with Netmech DOS in '97. I don't remember most of the vets from back then, if they weren't HJ, but the unit names are certainly familiar. I did more than my fair share of recruiting people off the GC Netmech server for House Jurai back in the day, teaching them to lag shoot when everyone else was just having fun pickin' on the newbies that couldn't fight back.

Of course, I played CHI, CHR, and MechWarrior (1) way back before that. I don't think any game has occupied as much of my time (in-game) as Netmech did. Although, I probably spent about as much time on overall strategy in the NBT4 league (MW4), with countless hours logged into the automation, with multiple spreadsheets open, and of course a nice wall map of FWL (enemy) space with pins and tags marking ships, garrisons, and industry amounts.

Played Grand Council as Eladamri in Steel Viper for a long time. Played with names such as Splicer, Punkrasta, Ironfist and Swampie, the Khan. I remember Blondi from back then, Orgasmatron, etc..dabbled a bit a few years ago with the Widowmaker I see in this thread before any games came back out, messed around with Marte and the FWLM group a while back (also Cyberkut..anyone know if they're still around?)

Remember a guy named Blackthorn too..anyhow I'm back with House Jurai for this game and the future, but good to see TyR. I especially remember Verdic

I played on Kali in the GC with Clan Ice Hellion, with Wolf's Dragoons in the Registry, and co-founded Clan Wolf when the NBT started (saKhan and then Khan when my buddy Mistwolf became ilKhan for the league). Callsign was Mjolnir Fetladral. /salute to all Kali players!

I have kept my title name for all of those years so you can find me on the battlefield and either say 'hi' along side, or 'hi' as we exchange rounds.

Lets see, I was in BloodSpirit, and a bunch of merc units before finding a unit that has lasted the years. Ah, Juraian Forever!!!!!!!

sounds familiar I was in the shadow rats (SRM) sigh gonna have to get a new controller for this. I remember first playing mech on a bbs dial up or somthing like that.
