I have played online games for nearly 10 years. The most rude, elitist, and just plain rotten things I hear in life tend to come from some faceless jerk spouting off all while playing a game. I've played Battletech in one form or another going back over 25 years but the only time I've not enjoyed the people I played with is when it is a bunch of faceless gamers all spouting crap. Granted it's not always like that but when playing a random match it's easier to enjoy the game and lose a match than win one and listen to most of the crap that comes from people trying to tell others how to play or putting down others. It's Beta. Right now I can care less about the OP and his approach to bringing this subject up. Look at the title, in and of itself it is insulting to other types of players.

I mean
A) What a social outcast you are... why not enjoy the human experiance and share time with our fellow man... and
B ) You deal with ******** all day anyway... If you didn't deal with some ***** you would never get your oil changed or car registered... and finally
C) I don't need your life story to play a video game with you
I love people coming to games that "Act above it all"... If you were above it all, you wouldn't be playing... and you most certianly wouldn't be posting on a forum dedicated to video games... Sod Off

Give me a reason to fight beyond winning - i.e community warfare and ofc, i'll be searching out some other like minded pilots.

The title is not mean to be rude or condescending
Well I'm sorry dude, but that's EXACTLY how you and your thread title come across to me. And I think you know you are, or else you wouldn't have felt the need to write those 2 sentences.
But okay, I'll give an answer. Why don't I join voicecomms? Because the games don't matter yet. Not really. We drop on a random map, we fight, someone wins, someone loses ... and then we do it again. Nothing changes apart from some personal W/L and K/D ratios. When the faction stuff goes live I might look to do more because then the games will actually influence something bigger than myself. That's pretty much what I used to do with my UT clan back in the day. When we were playing a proper league match we were all on comms, but I never did when I was just in a public server with random people just playing for fun.
And btw, MWO is not unique in having Puggers who don't use voicecomms. I have 1200 hours combined in Steam on TF2, Killing Floor, and both L4Ds. I don't even have any way to estimate UT, but I played that series for over 5 years. Its very rare that I ever heard voicecomms in a public server. So the silent MWO players shouldn't feel that they are doing anything unusual compared to other multiplayer games.

Either it is integrated in the game or it does not exist.
Considering that we are in late 2012, I find it impossible that a game engine does not have integrated voice communication.
I use regularly voice communication in other games, L4D, TF2, BF, CoD, ...
It is ridiculous that the developers still have such a flaw in the game.

"Because I don't know anyone in this game, I'm kind of shy and I haven't joined any whatever we call guilds here. I have no problem with voice chat and use it regularly when playing other games."
Your vote options are a bit insulting.

That's the whole point. It's a ragepoll cause the OP got his *** handed to him one too many times for being an ***** and running into the enemy solo while thinking that everyone else will support his suicidal ways.

I dont think there is an awful lot of reason to communicate in PUGs that cannot be done via keyboard. People tend to not read/listen anyway, so why bother?
I can see the benefit in regular group drops though. Enjoy it.

You are another example why some people just dont want to deal with groups. You just like OP think thats the only way to play and everyone who does not fullfils your standards is a noob and whatnot. That kind of attitude is what most people escape from. People come here to explain their reasons why do they play in groups and why not and i dont think anyone "acts above it all". Calling people social outcasts is another thing bro. Everyone has a choice how to play dont you think?
Sometimes these kind of topics amuses me when i read them. This all PUG and Premade thing is getting really ridicilous

There are Peeps that are playing when they have the Time. And they cant say if they have 5 min or 3 houres Time to play.
When the Kids are crying i play my round to the end...and then i bail out. Would love to have more Timefor this....but you cant
have it all. So that is the main reason why i play the Pug.

I have my own voiceserver.
Reading the chat is worse enough no need to also hear the babbling waste produced by the "community"
What would it take for you to join in voice chat?
Can't be done

The reason I am not consistently on TeamSpeak or C3 is not a single, simple answer.
I would probably explain with a wall of text if it wasn't 4 AM.
