If I wanted to be social I would go outside and meet people? I play video games because it is easy and convenient and I DON'T HAVE TO RELY ON OTHER PEOPLE BEING AVAILIBLE TO PLAY. I play casually, sometimes i get on at 1 am to play a few games, sometimes i play for 4 hours straight. I have a very inconsistent schedule (and I know I am not alone) and that shouldn't make me unable to have a competitive online experience. There is a place for team play and a play for casual gamers. There is no reason they have to be mutually exclusive. That being said I also group with 1-3 other people ocassionally.

the matchmaker needs to be much more weighted on group sizes. unless there are no other groups in queue it should never have a game with one 4 man on one side and no 4 man on another. Many times games are decided before the mech startup sequence ends just due to a premade and that needs to be accounted for.

Because when I do PUG (which is almost all the time now) I like to be able to flow from one game to the next without waiting on people. And I like to blare my music.

I pug because I have found very few nice people on premade teams most heckle pugs or lonewolfs on coms flaunt the fact there hacking right on coms also. PGI does not even care there 1 shot killing players all the time and using hacking aimbots to do it because there buying MC. End of my story.

I still prefer pugging to pre-mades as it insures a challenging fight, or me getting rolled. If I go pre-made instead, then half my fights are easy wins, and it gets boring fast. Getting better with ELO though.

I usually play with friends but when I pug I am a extremely slow typer so info can take a while to get out so C3 implementation is a must for me but I am pretty sure next to no-one uses the basic implementation we have currently (or atleast thats what they tell me).

I am solo right now ,cause most of my buds aren't on and there isn't another group I currently run with.So as far as most games go I'm currently on vent with my guild from other games, but no one else is playing this currently. When game gets more functionality may be running our own merc group or I'll join a current group. Also I'm not on alot just on and off, and don't feel like getting into some fracticious group at moment. I'm casual player so not out to be "top of the list" and rolln' all the pugs group.I know there are alot of good clans out there ,but holding out for a while. but teamwork wise I have no problems gettng into a set up for some games.

some of the options are sarcasm

A very bad idea.

In any case: I do occasionally use teamspeak when I play with friends. But I cannot be arsed to look for a group of strangers to join, especially if I'm already in a TS channel with friends having a nice chat on the side that said strangers don't need to hear. I'd use properly implemented in-game voicechat if it was available for pugs, as I do in other games I play.

Because it is the year 2013 and it's really bloody stupid we haven't got in-game voice chat already. If we had it, I would call out enemy movements, maybe ask the Lights to go cap, and even possible say "focus on the Atlas."

I shouldn't have to join a clan/guild/whatever just to be able to do this. It's already given these groups an inflated sense of ego and self-righteousnous as they apparently are the only "teamplayers" in the game. Ignoring the fact that Pugs still can operate like teams, with people doing certain roles autimatically as they wish to do. Maybe eventually I will want to join one of these groups, as the game gets more content, but right now it's a beta and not a finished product so pugging should be just fine. It always should be just fine.

Game's that can't have functional Pugging will fail. It's 80 percent of play and it's how people learn and get better on their own.

Because I'm not so lazy I can't type...

Also, if there's an integrated chat coming, why should I waste my time setting up the Flavor Of the Month chat software?

what a crappy one sided poll.

1) other - dont want to listen to kids scream about not getting support when they rambo or get killed by "cheese" builds (seen trial mechs get labelled cheese even)

2) nothing, it detracts from the game IF YOUR PUGGING.

I'm fine using it when im playing with friends on a team or something, but absolutely dont want to use it with the random ******* that you meet pugging, either on your team or the other one.

I only play solo just for fun and really enjoing the game so far. When in game chat comes and commands i will use them for sure.

On the other note the way you wrote this topic name makes me never ever have anything associated with clans/groups especially the one you are in. You make it sound its the only way to play and your the only one knowing how to play it but believe me its not. I had many bad experiences with people in other games and it seems you classify like one of them. Nothing against you bro but the way you wrote just rubs me the wrong way. Cheers.

If i imagine some of the people talking to me that post here in this forums - no thanks.

This. Open voice chat will just be a source of all kinds of crap.

EDIT: oh, and once we get a EU server, there will be people speaking 20 different languages - fancy that on voice comms.

This is not rocket science game design. Since the late 90's we've had voice chat. And since then, we've had 'mute player', and 'mute all players'.

Depriving the game of a basic, standard function based on asinine player preference is well...asinine.

im the same way. being an introvert like me makes communicating in person in any way feel odd. i play the way i do because of just that, its my way. we all play the way we want to play. and thats that.

Whatever happened to "I just like to unwind and do some brainless skirmish once in a while". Not all puggers players play solo 100% of the time for that matter.

Get some skill and stop whining when other team mates can't carry you through the match.
