Sooo, i do not require the use of SSW, you _can_ use it if you want to, but you won´t need it.

And yeah, Searchlights or lights in general would be a good feature for your vehicle :)

If you are using an Aerodyne, keep in mind that the atmospheric conditions are treacherous. It may change from calm to deadly storm in a matter of minutes. You can use one if you want to ;)

AMS, Light fusion engines and ECM are all very expensive. If you downgrade them, it'll be a lot cheaper.

light fusion is cheaper than XL. which i downgraded this unit from. dropped the speed from 97 to 86. the rest was to give it does defensive options, which is necessary considering the enviroment...

Can I get aboard the battle armor train? I could play the combat medic or something?

go for it. considering that BA can weigh up to a ton, I would say we can fit a maximum of 6 in the transport. we have 3-4 right now.

course it is chaos's decision. but i personally don't see an issue with it.

I would be going for a light armor personally. Something like http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Nighthawk

I'm still looking around though.

OH HAI NOMAD :D

OT: That Nighthawk stuff is pretty cool though, I was going to go for a PA(L) when I was building the custom one but I couldn't have a flamer and an MG, so I had to upgrade.

OH HAI GRIM!

I liked the nighthawk because it's stealthy, and I figure it would be more discreet creeping around inside a deserted biodome.

I was thinking of either playing just myself, or a two man force recon team that could scout for the rest of the uber heavy equipment others are bringing.

Ps - does anyone else get a heavy horror movie vibe off this plot? A military team is sent alone to a hostile planet, to check on a research station that has suddenly gone dark, only to find it deserted. I'm going to be spouting aliens references the entire time :-P

You know, I'd never realised that before you mentioned it. Damn we be screwed!

I think most of our BA guys are in light armor, maybe one in medium.

Mine is a medium, but pretty lightly armored. Crazy chameleon armor though, which is basically magic.

Forgive me if I missed it, I tried to read the whole thread up to this point, but other than being on a hostile planet, what's the situation? Are we all mercs, or are we official soldiers? I want to start thinking about a bio and am curious whether I should go the professional soldier route or a hired gun.

I think we are a mix, hired guns backing up professional soldiers.

Chaos, mind if I run all 3 of my vehicles, the lariot, the HSJ and the transport? I was going to make the transport crew kinda quiet as it is, and if we have enough tankers and mech pilots (cause i still think we should have a light or medium mech to back up your omen,) I can always drop either the lariot or the HSJ depending on what we have enough of.

I was thinking that we were defending the biodome... Are we? I was thinking about being an X Com* ROM agent who left the order because he couldn't keep his d**k in his pants. It's what led him to be posted in such a miserable place to begin with, but he still gave in to his lust and eventually started his own family on Planet _________.

He's trained in bunches of skills but no battlemech training. And he's kind of old so he won't be John Wooing it all kinds. But he's still highly trained and dangerous.
