We all know that the world of Battletech and Mechwarrior is more than just the mechs. There's the tanks, transports, jets, and lets not forget those annoying Elemental armor suits that pop around like crickets. I really loved the PC games, but if we are talking spending time in an immersive world we have to get out of the cockpit (not to mention how funky it's getting in there). I would like this to be something more than just Mechwarrior 3 online.

So. So far it is just Mechwarrior 3 online.

Yep, and this is good. Only-mechwarrior is better than no-existing-battletech-game.

Wow...you summed up in 70 words what took me a wall of text to get across.
/facepalm
But yes. 1. Let's get "MW3/4:Online" first, get PGI some revenue.
2. Once it's profitable with an established user base....flesh it out.

Have you played Mechwarrior Living Legends? It's whole concept is based around combined arms.

Maybe I'm in the minority here but I really just want to pilot only mechs. If I wanted the other stuff wouldn't I be playing something like Battlefield 3? Or am I way off here...?

Does Battlefield 3 have mechs?
In MWLL you have different combined ops, and it does flesh things out a bit. I agree that most will be content with "just mechs" tho. It would be nice to have supporting vehicles tho.

The cool thing about F2P games is they never leave active development.
The devs can constantly add new and cool stuff.
I think though we'll probably see these units as NPCs. Maybe being able to call in tank/air/artillery support as unlockable pilot abilities or something, on a limited-use-per-match basis. Or maybe map dependent, such as attack/defend, with attackers getting some NPC tanks and defenders getting some NPC turrets or something.
Pilotable though... probably not.
