Smart choice or the winner would allways be the star league mech with the fancy name. Excalibur pffft
I really hope PGI gives atention to the mechs that are classicaly available on the battletech universe or Com Star mechs will be more common than th workhorses of the inner sphere.

How could I NOT vote for the TRUE Steiner recon 'mech?

Zeus isnt a recon mech, just standard issue power armour.

That's a thing that concerns me: I know the MWLL variants aren't canon, but the variants fill roles that would be filled by other mechs if they could model them (for example: the Hollander with an AC20 filling the role of a Hunchback). In this game, it would close up the roles that would be filled by potential future mechs. So, I'd rather that mechs stayed as unique as possible. No Hatamoto!

The skill tree for each mech requires variants. A mech with ony 1 or 2 variants doesn't offer as much in the way of bonuses if you specialise in it.

I realise the Zeus is going to win, but damn guys - the Victor and Thug are exactly tied.

Well I like the Victor from Citytech... and the Thug from MW2 and the Zeus period...

Choice is hard...

6 pages into a discussion about 80-tonners & nobody's said it, so I will: Charger! OK, the original is a joke, & the export version sold to the Capellans is no better. But the Capellan 4th Succession War variant is very similar to a Victor, the high-tech Kuritan version is as fast as a medium, with jump jets, 1xLRM-20 & 4xMed. Pulse Lasers. And then there's the Charger-SB. The same speed & armour as an Awesome, but 4xLarger Lasers instead of 3xPPC. It's like an X-Wing on legs!

If'n ya watch your frameworks in Battlemechs in MechWarrior 4, you can squeeze some good **** onboard damn near any 'Mech. Even so, as I've no piloting experience with any of the polls' available 80-tonners save the Victor, it's my platform of choice here. As it stands, properly planned, any 'Mech can be made into something hard to take down, even with insane weaponry like the Ultra AC20 or its' LBX counterpart.

The Zeus is probably going to win, but we have seen what you guys can do with 'mechs art wise. It would be really cool to see a more flattering design for the Thug or the Victor. I personally voted Thug, not because it's one of my favorites, but because I would be really interested in seeing what amazing things you could do with it.

I second Fullbird's recommendation, and christen that mech the "BattleAxe"

Zeus of course. A nice 9S fits the timeline perfectly.

Yay! Polls I can vote in.

This is a tough one, though. All three of these 'mechs are pretty cool. I think I have to go with the Zeus, though.

Tough one,

I love the Victor for two reasons.

AC/20 what can't you love about 1 shot 1 kill

Jump Jets, when all else fails jump on them

Zeus - gota luv this. It was a great ride. Plenty of firepower, nice well rounded assualt.

More punch at range, plenty of armor to slug it out.

I voted for the Zeus because I hated being jumped on and the Zeus usually blew you up before you could do it.

Gotta love the Victor. Jump Jets and a AC 20. DFA and the ability to strip all the armor from most mechs torsos. If it is good enough for the Crown Prince of the Fed Coms it is good enough for me.

For reference:

Thug

Victor

Zeus

(Also, I left out the Awesome because we all know it'd win with something insane like 95% of the votes - this will be more interesting now I think )

I agree, even I had trouble with the previous option in facebook. Here's a thought although it might be tedious. Make the polls once again available through here.

Staying on topic: Victor.

Although the Vic is iconic in our realm, the Zeus has better all range weapons load out.

Like has been said, I'd like to see the Chi up in there too (but not the Charger) even if it is based on the earlier model Thug.
