Uhm.. Both us Wolves and the Nova Cats had a hand in seeing that the Smoked Kitties got smoked.
And the Nova Cats also had a hand in the Great Refusal, so a little bit more respect for them would be nice.

Even if they imbibe even more peyote than the Coyotes do, they know how to fight.

Show respect to a group of brigands who abandoned the Way of the Clans because of a "vision"? I think not. That is why you are Abjured. You are all traitors! You know what happens to putty cats do you not? Ask the Smoke Jaguars.........

I would have to be a Falcon but ofcourse, however i dont like the Crusader attitude and have always been closesly alligned with the Beliefs of the Wolf. So whilst i will always be a Falcon my friends are within Wolf.

The War of Reaving, my good man. The Wolves get abjured and basically flip the Grand Council the bird, thanks to some deals they made with the Coyotes before they left.

Well....seeing you have a banner that has a quote from a book in it , you probably know all about it. I didn't read it the first time. I rarely pay attention to banners. However, I find it really hard to debate pg 66 of the War of reaving.

Quote

"On 15 April the Grand Council Abjurred the Wolves. "

Just sayin' man.

Just figured that maybe, maybe we should view our Clan choices off of what they've done in 3048.

I was never a fan of the Clans but if I had to be a bondsman to one it would be to the Wolf clan

Home at last.

Let me continue where you left off.

Quote

On 15 April the Grand Council Abjured the Wolves. Khan Ward, present for the vote, did not hold back in his scathing rebuke of the “limp-spined parody of a council” and told the Khans present exactly where to stick their Abjuration. Khan Brett Andrews, outraged at the naked disrespect shown by Ward, moved to Annihilate the Wolves. [Khan Ward’s response was simple: “Bring it on.” –SK]

The Annihilation vote failed thanks to all of the Inner Sphere Clans, including the Horses, and votes by both Coyote Khans. [The Invader Clans voted more as a move of solidarity and less as a move of alliance with Ward and his Wolves. –SK]

The reasons for being Abjured are totally different as well as the state of the Clans at the time.

When the Nova Cats were Abjured it was because they abandoned the Way & turned on their own in favor of the sham of a Star League.

Quote

Khan Ward knew full well he needed to extricate the Clan from the Homeworlds and the petty bickering that had consumed the Grand Council.

We did not abandon the Way. Those sniveling Home Clans were jealous of what we possess & wanted it, plain & simple.

The few who remained were not following the Way which is why we technically Abjured THEM.

Quote

“The Wolf follows no other commands but those of the Khan. We do not bow to a council of politicians and old men,”

They had become tainted & corrupt as the Ghost Bear Khan noted,

Quote

While Labov’s lifeblood drained onto the Council floor, Khan Bjorn Jorgensson condemned the ilKhan and the Council. He decried the entire proceedings as one that “defiles the very essence of our Founder and his kin, and is undeserving of Clan Ghost Bear’s attention any longer.”

We left at a time of OUR choosing & returned at a time of OUR choosing. When we returned however, it was not to beg & plead,

Quote

At dawn two days later, two Clan Wolf DropShips defied Strana Mechty orbital control and roared over the city, dropping two Clusters of Omicron Galaxy [This was the Coyote Galaxy bargained for between the two Clans. For the record, it was the 246th Wolf Strike and the 509th Solahma Battle Clusters that carried out the raid, commanded by Star Colonel Ramil Kerensky and a Star of Clan Wolf Watch warriors. –SK] on and around the Kerensky Bloodchapel. The Wolf warriors quickly overwhelmed the Chapel’s guards and took possession of the entire facility. Star Colonel Ramil Kerensky then broadcasted a challenge to all of the Clans, demanding they “prove themselves worthy of the Kerensky heritage by retaking the chapel from Wolf jaws.”

:) :D :D :D    :D :D :D

Do NOT place us in the same category as the Putty Tats er I mean Nova Cats.

Abjured is abjured, Bubba. No matter how you try to slice it. :) "You can't fire me, because I quit!" still leaves a guy out of a job....or a clan out of a council.

You can dispute WHY the Wolves were abjured until the cows come home, but the matter remains they were abjured.

For my two cents though, the Nova Cats did deserve their abjuration hands down. The Wolves may not have been abjured if Brett "Purify it With Orbital Bombardment" Andrews did not become ilKhan. *shrugs* Ah well. Vlad warned him.

Clan Steel Viper.

Simply because all the other invading clans have been way overused especially JF, Wolf, GB and SJ. I have played as Wolf, SJ, GB in MW2-MW4 in various leagues. Nova Cat is just blah. Steel Viper is the fresh, interesting and rarely mentioned invading Clan :)

My first exposure to BattleTech was the old TV cartoon series when I was a kid. For me, the most core and iconic part of battletech is the clan invasion of 3049+, primarily between the Jade Falcons and FedCom.

Combine that with the great Jade Pheonix trilogy (and associated works) by Robert Thurston, and I'm a very solid fan of Clan Jade Falcon.

The Founder had a vision as well. The Coyotes have had them. The Cloud Cobra's. The Goliath Scorpions.

While you and I may scoff at such ideas, it is not our place to judge
But merely to respect their skills, tenacity and bravery.

Or has your hatred made you forget Tyra of the Rasalhague?

That is not the way of the Wolf. Then again, you Crusaders were never able to set aside your own petty needs in favour of those of the Clan.

With your actions you bring disgrace upon the name of the Kerensky's. You betray the dream held by the Great Father.

And as for an Abjuration. You might pay heed to the clucking of a Pistachio Chicken Khan, but we do not.
We are following the orders of the late Ilkhan Ulric Kerensky and abiding by the dream held the Great Father.

To all citizens of the Inner Sphere do I, Aleksandr Kerensky, send greetings.

Know that I have taken the remnant of the Star League Defense Force which has remained true to its purpose beyond the boundaries of the Inner Sphere, beyond the Periphery. I have done this, neither out of disappointment with those whom we leave behind, nor out of spite or disdain, as some will say. No, we have left the Inner Sphere because we love it too much to see it destroyed. In the wake of the Usurper's coup, and the long, bitter fighting that came with it, I fear that my forces would do incalculable, possibly irreparable, harm to our society. We are sworn to ward the Star League and its subjects, not destroy it.

Thus, we have left the only homes we have ever known to place the destructive capability of this armada beyond the reach of those who would use it, not for defense, but for conquest. Perhaps, with the might of our 'Mechs and ships out of reach, the leaders who now grapple with one another will relinquish their dreams of subjugating their neighbors and learn to live in peace with them.

Perhaps, one day, should mankind step back from the brink of the abyss, we, our children, or our children's children will return, to once more serve and protect and guide the Star League in mankind's quest for the stars.

That time has come and we shall ward it from all those who would do it harm, either from within or without.

And if our Nova Cats cousins wish to stand with us in this task.
Then so shall it be, and let none dare question the validity of this Rede.
