My first exposure to BattleTech was the old TV cartoon series when I was a kid. For me, the most core and iconic part of battletech is the clan invasion of 3049+, primarily between the Jade Falcons and FedCom.

Combine that with the great Jade Pheonix trilogy (and associated works) by Robert Thurston, and I'm a very solid fan of Clan Jade Falcon.

Me too. Aidan Pryde is one of my heroes. I was in a Jade Falcon unit for MW4 but they went inactive so I am a Wolf now.

I will never forget:

"Attention, Somerset! I am Star Colonel Nicolai Malthus of the Jade Falcon Clan. A full trinary stands ready to conquer your planet. What forces dare oppose us?"

"Is this some kind of joke?"

"You DARE to refuse my batchall?!?!"

"Refuse your what?"

"Prepare to feel wrath of the Falcon's Claws!"

But merely to respect their skills, tenacity and bravery.

Or has your hatred made you forget Tyra of the Rasalhague?

WHAT? What is...? What are you....? WHAT?

That is not the way of the Wolf. Then again, you Crusaders were never able to set aside your own petty needs in favour of those of the Clan.

YOU say that is not the way of the Wolf. If we meet in a Circle of Equals, we can discuss it there, at length.

And as for an Abjuration. You might pay heed to the clucking of a Pistachio Chicken Khan, but we do not.

I thought my eyes were OK but evidently I need glasses or contacts. That looks like...... let me see......... yes it looks like you are insulting Vlad Ward. The man who disagreed with Ulric on principle but out of loyalty followed him until he died. Singlehandedly resurrected his Clan, enduring the Jade Wolf debacle, turned two Khans of a Clan on each other, killed both of them (one of them about a minute after he was elected ilKhan, oh my he killed an ilKhan!), & rebuilt a touman from ashes. Yes I will take that Pistachio Chicken to go please. What sort of CV does your leader have? Please.

Quote

We are following the orders of the late Ilkhan Ulric Kerensky and abiding by the dream held the Great Father.

To all citizens of the Inner Sphere do I, Aleksandr Kerensky, send greetings.

Know that I have taken the remnant of the Star League Defense Force which has remained true to its purpose beyond the boundaries of the Inner Sphere, beyond the Periphery. I have done this, neither out of disappointment with those whom we leave behind, nor out of spite or disdain, as some will say. No, we have left the Inner Sphere because we love it too much to see it destroyed. In the wake of the Usurper's coup, and the long, bitter fighting that came with it, I fear that my forces would do incalculable, possibly irreparable, harm to our society. We are sworn to ward the Star League and its subjects, not destroy it.

Thus, we have left the only homes we have ever known to place the destructive capability of this armada beyond the reach of those who would use it, not for defense, but for conquest. Perhaps, with the might of our 'Mechs and ships out of reach, the leaders who now grapple with one another will relinquish their dreams of subjugating their neighbors and learn to live in peace with them.

Perhaps, one day, should mankind step back from the brink of the abyss, we, our children, or our children's children will return, to once more serve and protect and guide the Star League in mankind's quest for the stars.

I love how you have

Just one that you seemingly cannot recognize, just as the Not Named Clan could not recognize the Founder's Way.
So you wish to pass judgement on the validity of someone's vision.

Typical Crusader blustering.
You are only as good, as the enemy you defeat.
If you are unable to recognize the skills or the bravery of your foes, even if you disagree with them politically, then that means that your victories are worthless as well.

I am one who remembers Our Remembrance and what it teaches us.

Passage 294, Verse 8, Lines 24-33

Tyra and her warriors fought

Like crazed demons above Radstadt.
When her fighter crippled by ours,
And her life leaked away into the endless night,
She chose to die
And sent her fighter like a spear
Through the Dire Wolf, claiming as isorla
Our mighty ilKhan's life. Sing of our loss, warriors!
Sing, but of Tyra also
For though an enemy, her courage none can deny.

As for the resume of my Khan?

How about defeating yours for the Bloodname of Ward. Is that sufficient? Or do you truly wish for me to relate each and every accomplishment? Much to the boredom of the Spheroids, most likely. *chuckles*

They came together so as to better fight your kind. They fought the Great Refusal and won.
And while the bonds are still fragile, with our guidance they shall be strengthened to such a degree, that no force within or without shall be able to shatter them again. That was always our purpose, not to Lord over them, for that was the way of the Usurper. And our ancestors shed their blood to stop that from happening, and thus it now falls upon us to do the same.

It fills me with sadness that you cannot understand the dream that both the Great Father and the Founder had. Such blindness is to be expected from a Pistachio Chicken or a Smoked Kitten. But to see a fellow wolf sunken so low...

We are Clan Wolf, children of Kerensky.
We carry the Honor of his name on our shoulders, as our fathers did in the foward.
The Rememberance speaks to us of the Evil in Man's will, of the reasons for Exodus, ...and the Rights of the Traveller.
Arcadia is our Destiny and our Right. Enlightenment is our Gift.
By the Bloodnames of our Founders we must return, return and protect what is unique among the Stars.
Terra awaits us as it was Written. We are the last of the Wardens. The sole Hope for Earth.

It is still our task to deal with the viper at the breast of the Star League, those now entrenched upon sacred Terra.
Those who have forgotten the sacrifices and ideals of Jerome Blake and his people during the the War against the Usurper.
Those who have twisted his words to suit their own needs, their own **** for power. No different from how the Crusaders have forgotten what our task is.

Mend your ways trothkin, so we Wolves can stand united once more as a singular pack.
So we may fullfill the will of both the Great Father and the Founder and help the Spheroids strengthen the Star League, so that it cannot be shattered anew. So that mankind shall be granted a new Golden Age, as opposed to seeing it damned to the Dark Ages, all for wasteful pride.

Not at all. As I said other Clans had visions but the Nova Cats betrayed their brethren & took up arms against them, as did the Not-Named Clan. (that was your defence? really? wow)

Disagreeing with my politics is one thing. We can go at it in the Council Room then have a drink & a laugh afterward. When you betray the ideals of the Founder, then take up arms against those who are like you , that is where I draw the line. And on top of that you want to take the moral high ground? Follow that road; you have two examples of where it leads. If you make a stupid decision you will arrive at the same destination.

If I stand victorious I could care less what you losers think. History is written by the winners.

I know of Tyra. The problem was she was already the enemy so your point is mute. She was fighting FOR her people not against them.

Agreed.

Do not be ridiculous. I have shown you directly from the Great Father's quote that you so generously put up. The Warden philosophy is built on a condition that was NEVER fulfilled. You are dead in the water. It is irrefutable. Do not pass go, do not collect Terra!

Mend MY ways? Vlad followed Ulric. He hated him & what he stood for with every fiber of his being but he stayed with him. Why would I want to stand with you diseased dogs who fled like whelps when the Clan needed you? The barbarians have proven they cannot make the Star League work. If you are too blind to see that, then die in ignorance. If you will not stand with me, then you will fall before me.

All I have to say is this:
The Rememberance Passage 104:4-6

Quote

The jaguar's spring that brings the enemy down,
The jaguar's claws that rend the enemy's heart,
The jaguar's taste of the enemy's hot blood.

and The Rememberance Passage 121:8-12

Quote

As the insect feeds the bird,
As the bird feeds the wolf,
As the wolf feeds the smoke jaguar,
So all give life to the warrior
Who sheds his blood for their glory.

Honestly I hope that the Age of Darkness doesnt happen in this game, and the clans resume their drive. Nukes for every one isnt my idea of fun for Battlemech's.

with 1 game day being 1 real life day... i am not sure we will be playing this that far down the road... even just the start of the Jihad is like 18 years from now. By then we would have a much improved MWO2 :)

The proper epithet is "canister born", or "canister" for short.

I prefer refering to them as corpses really, but its not polite to do so in public, so vat born abominations is as close as I can get.

Jaroth, and IS - Wolf, why fight each other? We are all members of the clans, quiaff? Why must we fight each other and weaken ourselves, if we wish to restore the Star League, I personally am a Wolf, but as much as I hate Jade Falcons, why must we fight them when we have bigger enemies to deal with? I would fight side by side with the Falcons if it means that both of our goals are accomplished. Yes the inner sphere needs to be either reconquered or reeducated, or both, I will follow my Khan to the death if it means victory. IF you ask me you two need to quit bickering, and save it for another time, when we have retaken control over Terra. Then I will stand as a witness to watch the both of you discuss this in a circle of equals. But first, let us fulfill Alexander Kerensky's dream of a new Star League, so that way we can ensure the progress of humanity as a whole.

Oh we will, of that I have no doubt. I will take great pleasure in relieving old men of their memories of past victories, and replacing them with the brutal reality of what a dangerous combination youth, skill, and experience is when honed to a razors edge.

Onwards to Terra, it shall be an easy road to take.
