The 'mech does look fantastic though, and I'm sure when it finally makes it in-game I'll give it a whirl for S&G's.

oh god, it's a game, have fun, i'm not a highlander pilot but i say yes, bring it on, why cause it will make more people say yes, i love my ride, even if it's a downgraded version or whatever you call it, more people having fun = better game for me.

where has the game said oh, where sticking to canon? double armour? weapons firing every 3-5 seconds and not once every 10 seconds as per the table top, omg, you should quit now to avoid being upset about more not sticking to canon

Yes, Highlander is a Star League-descended assault mech, just like Atlas, Awesome and Stalker. Despite that ComStar is a main user of Highlander; they were used by Capellan and Lyran in a small number as well, but mostly 'monkey models'. Though less powerful, but the downgraded variant is better armored. But I'm willing to bet that Highlander is a part of the Lyran's main workhorse, you know what I mean?

On the side note, Highlander is the only assault mech equipped with jump-jets.

PS: Anyway, I'll be looking forward to take this beast for a ride.
