I like all 3 arts. But what I don't see is modularity. It is like the same stuff as in MW3, MW4 > Tro mech design, no matter what weapons they use. Maybe I am wrong, but let see it realistic, no one has a enough grey cells or time to implement some nice slot based weapons that you can actually see on your mech appearance.

I see what you mean but you have to remember that very few Battle Mechs where built to be modular (Omni-mechs are the exception), so much the the equipment isn't the same, as they would come from different factories with different designers. And we still don't know how things will work out when it comes to custom mech load-outs. For all we know they may implement a system similar to MechWarrior 3 and 4 where you cannot mount a missile launcher in a single barrel arm, etc.

Personally I like the new art style, the tech readout looks functional, but the artwork makes it look battered and worn, just what a mech should look like after a few months use. The slightly textured look of the armour is also welcome on the artwork, I especially like the scrape damage on the left knee of the Dragon artwork. Gives the impression of 'rookie pilot mistake'.

The new art style is simply fantastic. It takes the old TRO aesthetic and simply brings it up to modern standards (I can't stand the MechWarrior IV look). I can't wait until I see an Assassin... it's my favorite BattleMech. PLEASE DON'T MESS IT UP!!!

I like the new art style, but as someone else said, it would be nice to have some modularity of weapons for modifications, unless their just going to allow fixed variants, all individually drawn. It would certainly speed up production of models. Most seem to think the more mech's available the better.

The art is amazingly well done. I look forward to see how they model them in-game.

I really like the art style. It is missing something in all the drawings, hmmm let me think. Oh ya dead furry things, that's it.

I think I'll reserve my judgment until we see the definite in-game models.

I like what I've seen of the concept art. You can still tell what it is just by looking, yet it looks more plausible than the source material. Especially enjoying the Dragon. EDIT: And the Jenner and the Hunchback.

Seems like people are still having mixed feelings about the redesigned Atlas... ;)

The atlas isn't bad, but it's very different. I'm warming up to it. I have to admit that before they released the other stuff I was feeling a bit iffy :D

TBH, felt the same way at first, but meanwhile I think the new one fits this description way better:
"a 'Mech as powerful as possible, as impenetrable as possible, and as ugly and foreboding as conceivable, so that fear itself will be our ally." - Aleksandr Kerensky -

From what I've seen so far, he's already taken some of the worst-looking mechs (IN MY OPINION! DON'T KILL ME!) and really turned them around! Special kudos for even getting the Jenner to look good!
I mean, some of the old TRO art is just plain bad, like a bunch of cardboard boxes sort of piled on eachother. These give some coherent gait to them, you can see a little of the joints and complexities that help distinguish them.

I am totally loving the new art style. The designs are immediately recognizable and have a serious military appearance to them.

The art style is the way is should be from the start.

Atlas had always looked goofy and a joke to me, I didn't get the "supposed to look like fear itself' one bit but FD's Atlas really look menacing and has the "I'm going to tear your mechs apart into pieces and scraps!" look.

FD made it look like the meanest brawler you've ever seen which is cool. I suspect he took the old Atlas design and mixed it with Space Marines ;)

To be fair, the original Atlas did have a look of a large, menacing war machine. In the same way that He-Man was the epitome of masculinity in the 1980s.

I say the art department is doing fine, just make the in-game look the same as the awesome trailer ... that's what sold me.
