This isn't exactly battle musik, just thought i present the group in sweden that is closest to the original nordic medieval musik.
They are called Patrask wich means ragtag or rabble. It is a group that tour medieval market festivals all over sweden and some of the nordic countrys to give that authentic sound to the festivitis.
For fun they sometimes do medlys with well known modern songs in medieval style.

This particular clip is from a area in the swedish town Örebro called Wadköping, it is an area with very old buildings still standing.
Naturaly it is a perfect place for medieval reinactments, festivals and markets.

Don't think there is any swede who don't know this one from "Ronia the Robber's Daughter song"

For a clip with a few more songs from the movie, check this link.
I will try to see if i can find a translation for the lyrics

Lot's of great metal bands so I'll throw in something a bit different. Even though we're supposed to be Nordics by ancestry, I'd still add some Gaelic punk to the playlist of my Catapult. Eg. Flogging Molly, The Dreadnoughts (would love to link Grace O'Malley, but there ain't a single decent version in YouTube), The Real McKenzies etc.

Yes they do :) They were starring my hometowns rock festivals last August and have quite a fanbase in Europe in general.

*If they haven't been mentioned*

Storm Warrior (Especially Heading Northe)

Two Steps From Hell (Not especially Nordic sounding... But the songs themselves sound amazing for battle music.)

The soundtracks from MechWarrior 2, MechWarrior 2: Ghost Bear's Legacy, and MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries.

This. So much this. I love a lot of the other suggestions on this thread, and Nighwish definitely is going to make an appearance in my playlist, along with this:

Edited because I have no clue how to embed youtube videos.

Ummm... If I like both of these, does it make me... free vat born? :)
Power glove has some quite awesome music.

MW 2, MW 2 Mercenaries and MW 4 Mercenaries soundtracks are timeless classics that I'll definitely be listening while playing MWO.

Well, if you post a song from Eluveitie, I would recommend this one. It really catches our spirit quite well, I'd say:

And since porbably most or all of my favorite viking metal bands have already been posted (and nearly no one understands german in here, which is too bad), I would recommend the following. The ultimate tunes to march into battle :
