Another Swedish group. :) I really like the "heavyness" of the instruments in a lot of their songs. Don't know how else to explain it, then "heavyness". :P

This song might sort of work for the people who are going to play the Commanders role in this game. Atleast the name, and some parts of the lyrics... :P

And this song might work for FRR in general... since it's about hangovers. :) Something which I actually have never had, no matter how much I drank, or how much I ended up switching and mixing between different types of alcohol. At the most I had a "heavyness" in my head, but never any headaches or pain. ^_^

Hell yea!! METALLICA :) / But, as i think, can turn on something like vikings or barbarians war-songs. If they can be found.

Heh... Well, it's more for the benefit of people who get them. Also, I can only take other peoples word for how it feels, since I never had one. I have a friend who get's them really bad though, a lot worse then any of my other friends. Depending on what and how much he drank, he could potentually feel the effects all the way into the evening the day after he drank as well. ;)

The Prodigy - Invaders must die

Seems very suitable sooner or later... but as far as Viking music is concerned, this is what you're looking for:

Raubtier is yet another Swedish group. They do sing in Swedish though, no English songs as of yet from what I know. The name of the group is the German word for "Predator", and they got it from the movies with the same name.

Funny thing about the video. The "hero" in the viking/fantasy/etc part of the video, the guy with the long blond hair (you see him fall onto his back at the end of the video), is a guy named Martin Eriksson. Now that might not really mean anything to most people (like... 95-99+% of you guys), after all he is more known for his stage name "E-Type"... which actually might not mean anything to you guye either for that matter. Don't know how known he is outside of Europe since his music is classed as "Eurodance" which I don't know if it has had any impact outside of Europe... or heck even outside of Scandinavia or Sweden it's self. :)

Anyway... back to Raubtier.

For your benefit I will try to translate the lyrics the best I can. I will not always literally translate it, because a literal translation might not always actually make sence. But rather try to translate it to the meaning of what is said. Sometimes I will give more then one word as an option, to make a point of what they mean or might mean. I will use a / to indicate that the original Swedish word can mean each of those words seperatly. And will use a + if the original Swedish word means all the words at the same time. A /+ would mean that the original word can mean all the english words speratly /, and all the words combined at the same time +. Also, anything writen within a ( ) in the lyrics, is something which is either implied within the original Swedish text/word but is not actually said/sung in the song, or a quick explenation.

Sorry if all that makes the lyrics difficult to follow. ;)

Song name: "En Hjältes Väg"

It means either "A Heros Road" or "A Heros Way". Either would works though, beause I do think they actually mean both at the same time.

Lyrics:

See and observe how the banners grandeur
in the torches flaming light
Makes hearts burn and beat in beats/pace/tempo
in combat-desire/lust, mead-splashes and intoxication/+ecstasy!
See uppermost/+first amongst equals, a son of gods
a descendant of snowstorms and frost
Reconciled with fate to have life on loan (to live on borrowed time)
merely as long as the (weapon's) edge does not wither from rust
When the dawn bleeds they fight like brothers
and the son is red as blood

Like Sigfrid on Fafners soil/land/territory
amongst dangers, misfortune and betrayal
Holding his spirit and body strong
Within destines/intents bloody game
And each time he is called by war's wind
with sails towards flaming journey
with tenderness he strokes his womans cheek
but with ironhand he grips his sword
The blade is drawn
The wolves hour struck
Forward - towards honor/+glory and death!

In veins surges his noble blood
he fears not to sacrifice his life
His heart is filled with heroic courage
Going towards a new offensive
For the one who wants to walk in heroes tracks
he does what he must and can
he does not fall back, he stands where he stands
to get to fall and to die like a man
With blood it is written
that the deeds in life
becomes the spirits final judgement

By the falling oak-leaves victory-crowned/crowned victor
without fright he fight in battle
All the glory his deeds has brought+experienced+been given+encountered+etc
shall be remembered for everlasting time
A heroes road/way is a brushy/shrubby/tangled/complicated path
that few finds the end of
it goes through blood, through fire and war
and leads to the heroes grave
He does not look back, he does not look forward
he begins his last/final attack
see frustration+powerlessness fall, Valkyries call's
he slays - towards Valhalla!
A hero on the way/road towards Valhalla!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Finally... here are a few of E-Type's songs (the guy I mentioned at the start) in one video. The video it's self has got absolutely nothing to do with why I posted this particular url... not at all... not one bit... none... what... so... ... ... ever... *is being hypnotised by the dancing woman*

Some Industrial Metal for you guys, by the awesome group "PAIN", which consists of Peter Tägtgren... that's it... he's the only member. He playes pretty much all the instrument him self when creating the music and albums, and then hires in people to play the instruments only for when he performs live. B)

Also... PAIN is "only" his own sideproject that he does for fun. His own "main project" is the band Hypocrisy (which initially also started out with only Peter as a member), which I don't really listen to my self (most of the time to... screamy, shreeky and to growly at times for my taste). He has also been part of a few other bands over the years.

He is also a record producer for his own company, a recording studio called The Abyss, located in a village called Pärlby (a village which he owns! B)), where he has produced and/or mixed a lot of albums for a lot of other bands. A lot of them Swedish bands... like Sabaton, Dimmu Borgir, Immortal, Amon Amarth, Children of Bodom, to name a few.

Finally, I don't think I would be that far of from the truth if I said that: Peter Tägtgren is THE King of Metal in Sweden.
