Hi Zarash! I have been playing the Beta for a while, but am also new to the forums. I am also a long time fan of the series! So.. hello! : )

I think this site might help you find a processor that matches the chip set on your motherboard. http://www.cpu-upgra...31_Express.html Any of the Core 2 or Duo processors would probably be much better for you.

As long as you select a processor with compatible socket, frequency, and voltage, you should be able to just plug it right in. Get the pins properly placed and secured and the fan mounted. You'll want to update your BIOS with the new processor in place.

http://www.intel.com...b/CS-023105.htm That site may help with installation.

What is the wattage on your power supply? You may also need to upgrade that...

Welcome to the community!

I put the 8400 processor in and its working great. Instead of being at around 14 fps I am generally around 30 now.
