I think this site might help you find a processor that matches the chip set on your motherboard. http://www.cpu-upgra...31_Express.html Any of the Core 2 or Duo processors would probably be much better for you.
As long as you select a processor with compatible socket, frequency, and voltage, you should be able to just plug it right in. Get the pins properly placed and secured and the fan mounted. You'll want to update your BIOS with the new processor in place.
