Hi Guys,
I've played Mechwarrior 2 Mercenaries, Mechwarrior 4, I'm a Diehard Mechcommander fan, and I played that game on Mplayer way back in the day. I love RTS and Team based games like MWO. FPS's aren't my thing, I'd rather work with a team and win in a game that requires thinking. My play style is fluid. I've chosen the Atlas founders mech, and I'm pretty happy with it, sure it takes a day to get anywhere. I am applying because I want to meet new people and win as a team instead of as a PUG. I'm based in the Eastern Time zone. I'll play whatever role needed. I look forward to hearing back.

P.S. my name C4N3 is pronounced CANE. Thanks!

Hi C4N3,

Please submit an application at our unit website forums: http://www.blazingaces.info/

This is the quickest way to move through the application process.

Yep, you sound like a good fit there C4N3! I really need to update the OP here shortly to let people know the absolute best way to apply is over on our website now.

Hopefully I'll see you soon!

Hey Aces,
I started playing Mechwarrior 2 on PS. I got Mechwarrior 3 for PC. I found Mektek for Mechwarrior 4:Mercs. I have played both Mechcommanders. I have done quiet a bit of research on sarna.net and have been reading some of the battletech novels. I really haven't played Mechwarrior online because typically my internet was horrible, or the games stopped working for my newer computers. I have played quite a few RTS like Company of Heroes and Sins of a Solar Empire online with friends. I understand the need for teamwork and communication on the battlefield. I recently have done a few drops with some of your pilots as well. I am a jack of all trades in this game. I will play light to assault but I like the mediums the best. I will fill any role you need whether it be a brawler, scout, sniper, or whatever else you can think of. I am applying with the Aces because C4N3 found you guys and liked you, and also I have done a few drops with some of you and it was enjoyable experience whether or not we won or not. (We won most of the time.) Besides that you have the best parade color scheme. :) I honestly don't know what division I would fit in because I like doing it all. I am in the Central Time Zone. Just give me a mech and an enemy, and I am happy.

Just keep recruiting people in the Eastern Timezone and I'm happy....oh and I'm still alive. I know I've been dead for over a month, long story, full of lay offs, new gaming company job, 80+ hour weeks setting up our network and acclimatising to having my boss in the UK, 4 hours ahead...just like Crow, but I'm baaaaaaaaack.

But fear not, for I shall never die...never.

Thanks Crow, I appreciate that. Hopefully none of that is affecting you or any of our other UK brethern. (I work for Frontier Developments now, not sure if you've heard of them, in Cambridge I believe)

I finally got caught up in our forums as well, you boys are chatty :( I should have my rig built by about October, so sadly my estimates were correct but once that's out of the way there will be nothing stopping me from stomping around the battlefield murdering the enemies of the imperium and screaming "For the Emperor!"...wait a minute that's a different universe. Uh..stomp around the battlefield...with pinups of that Steiner chick! Oh and crushing our enemies, claiming dominance on all planets, yadda, yadda, yadda.

Oh and do you only get paid once a month in the UK? Is that standard? Because that's what they have us on now and it's brutal...fortunately it's near the end of the month, still awaiting my first but seriously weird.

Oh damn, if you did that, you probably met my boss! ha, now I have to be on my best behavior.

Also, what is it with you guys refering to PCs as kit...and sleep as kit....WHICH IS IT?!

Nahhh....I didn't get to meet the higher ups!

As for your 'kit' confusion -

Collection of PC Equipment or tools = Kit
Sleep or a quick snooze = kip

OHHHHHHHHH KIP, sorry my boss is actually deaf and speaks really low so I guess I just assumed he was saying the same thing. Well thank you for the correction my British lexicon Crow!

I just bumped the bit about needing GMT players to the very top of the OP Crow. I hope that attracts some more attention. I wish I could edit the subject line to reflect a Euro player need; would you like to open a sister thread so that the Blazing Aces European timezone recruitment gets attention?

If you do link it here and I'll add it to the OP!

A little about your experience with MechWarrior and BattleTech, or team games in general - in particular League play

New to BattleTech overall but with loads of experience in team play games. Played competitively for Dead on Arrival "DOA" for three years. Fared well in gamebattles "precursor to MLG" specializing in Rainbow Six 3 and its variants. Marine Combat Vetran, Twenty four years old.

Why you're interested in the Aces

Looking for a competitive group that doesn't lose sight of priorities, a mature atmosphere, and tactics driven team work. "Sometimes a hunchbacks gotta die so an atlas can find a flank, and I do love wrenchen on my hunchback"

What division you are interested in?

Hearts, I pilot mediums leaving me with the hunchback right now. Don't ask me to take the sticks on a dragon, I'm a fighter not a target.

This is very interesting to note; Fred and Rais are reporting the same problem, but most of us aren't encountering it. We had chalked it up to something being wrong with their connection but if more people are having it, that's a big deal.

I'll let Jace know. Also I'll let him know there's an app over here since Rais has been helping us a lot with it, and can't connect to the website. I don't want to get new applications lost in the shuffle!
