hey all night of shadow here just wanted to know what kind of electronic monsters people have out there like my one thats slowly coming together cause it consists of:

Mother board: gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3
CPU: Intel core i5 2500K
GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 560 Ti
RAM: 2x 4GB DDR3
HDD 1TB Western Digital Black
operating system: windows 7 64bit
CASE: FRACTAL Design core 3000 black
Power supply: Corsair TX-750 V2

so total design cost rounds up to $1,159 AUS so thats pretty cheap i guess anyone else got a monster gaming computer system out there and willing to share?

This is my current. Some of my parts might seem out of place with the rest of the system. When I originally built this, my older computer was on the verge of dying, so I picked certain parts with the intention of future upgrades, however, as life will have it, when I thought I could afford the 'next' part, something happened, money had to go elsewhere. Wee.

Motherboard: MSI 890FXA-GD70
CPU: Athlon X4 635 2.9ghz
GPU: AMD Radeon HD5670
Memory: 8GB G.Skill RipjawsX 1600
HDD: Western Digital 640GB Caviar Black, SATA 3.0
Case: SilverStone Fortress FT02B (I -love- this case)
PSU: Rosewill Bronze Series RBR1000-M (1000W)

In retrospect, I wish I had applied the funds differently...but I had no way of knowing difficult times were ahead that would sap all of my planned out funds for upgrades.

I originally had planned out for this system the AMD Phenom II X6 1090T processor, the AMD Radeon 5870, and an SSD of sometype. Alas.

I recently bought this little baby: Sapphire Ultimate HD 6670

http://www.sapphiret...&pid=1240&leg=0

I'm planning to take a few hundred Euros and upgrade the machine around it like this:

* Core i5 with good performance/price ratio
* 8GB of reasonably priced brand DDR3 RAM
* no-fluff quality mainboard
* Arctic Freezer 13

I wonder what you guys think, especially of the graphics card, and maybe also the cooler. I'm not going to do any overclocking, but I'd like the machine to run quietly.

Arctic Freezer 13 is very quiet, but the 6670 seems a little underpowered to me.

Desktop/Gaming rig
MB :: Asus M5A97
CPU: AMD FX-6100
GPU: MSI 6850OC Cyclone (2nd for crossfire has just been ordered)
RAM: 8Gb Corsair XMS3 1600 (4x2Gb)
HDD :: 500Gb (2xHitachi K250 drives in RAID, Fast enough, and all my storage is in NAS Drives)
OS :: Win 7 ^$Bit Ultimate (got to love MS Expertzone £12.50 OS Sales)
CASE: Thermaltake BachVX (Old, but a nice quiet and well made case), with 2xCeramic bearing fans. Can hear the CPU Fan over the case fans, and need to swap out for a Xigamech Tower or similar.
PSU :: Cheap (£50) 1000w Power supply.

Backup Machine ::
MB :: Gigabyte something or other.
CPU :: Phenom 9650.
GPU :: nVid 240/ATi 2900 depending on what I decide to slap in it when I pull it out of the Cupboard
RAM :: 8Gb OCZ Reaper
HDD :: 160Gb (2x80Gb) Seagate - Can't remember the models.
OS :: See comment about GPU
Case :: Asus MicroATX Case of some kind, again can't remember the model.
PSU :: Corsair 550W, old one, but working fine.

I recently staged the old machine back to being my backup, so it's a proper frankenputer. I was using it for a media server and player, but Her Indoors made me move it out of the way.

Laptop is an Acer "Ferrari One", as it's only really for using on the move, and I have more need for portability than power!

Well, you can probably tell I am running a tight budget on this one. Maybe more importantly, this machine was intended primarily as a workstation. I did not anticipate MW:O, to be honest. So a fanless triple-head-capable GPU fit that bill. I do hope it will turn out to run the game well enough. I can do without maxed out settings, as long as I don't feel I miss out too badly on the real beauty.
